Trey
The chairman and his friends laugh at the joke that at made.

"Now, Tremaine, I hear that you and your fiancée are expecting." The Mr. Gaines, the chairman asks.

"Yes, she's due in September. A boy." I say with a smile.

He pats my back and congratulates me.

"You're in for a life-long journey, son, but he's lucky to have you as a father," he says,"Where's your lady anyway?"

I look around the crowd for a sign of Liberty. She's out.

"Once we sit for dinner, I should spot her." I reply.

The subject changes to the new changes that will be implemented at Howard the next year. I glance around the room from time to time to find Liberty. She comes out of the crowd a couple seconds later with one of my co-workers, Janice. They're all smiles.

She's tall and skinny with high cheekbones. Looks very much like a model. They approach us and say hello. I pull Liberty close and kiss her.

"This is Liberty, my fiancée." I say introducing Liberty to Mr. Gaines and the rest of the men.

They shake hands and Mr. Gaines compliments Liberty's glowing beauty. Woah, is he trying to hit on her? I laugh.

"If everyone can take their places, dinner will begin to be served in ten minutes." Someone announces through the mikes.

"It was nice talking to you, Mr. Gaines. I'll see you tomorrow?" I say while shaking his hand.

"Yes. Tomorrow, and come around with your lady more often." He says playfully.

Liberty laughs.

"Mr. Gaines!" She says while giggling.

Liberty and I search for our table until we find it. Table 14 with some other alumni that we're not familiar with. We say hello anyway and introduce ourselves. Out of the corner of my eye, I could've sworn I seen that that photographer dude.

Damn. It is him. He comes to our table and asks for a picture. We pose and he snaps a picture. He waves at us and I nod. Before he can come over and strike up a conversation, we're saved by the bell.

The program starts and appetizers are served so the photographer has to move back. Thank you, God.

"How many times are we gonna run into that guy?" Liberty whispers into my ear.

I shrug and say,"Ignore him and enjoy the night."

As I eat my salad, I can't help but notice how much the photographer stares at Trey and I. I'm really trying to ignore it, but how? The alumni from across the table try to strike up some small talk. I hate small talk.

I rub my belly on instinct when I'm nervous.

"You don't like the salad?" Trey asks me noticing my demeanor.

"It's fine. I want some real food though." I say.

Trey nods and waves down a waiter. He wouldn't dare...

"How long until dinner?" He asks.

"Another 10-15 minutes sir. Are you unsatified with your food?" The waiter asks.
