He never turned when I called after him. I sighed glancing back down at my phone. What had happened to my life? I thought I had it all figured out. Mason didn't like me, so I was going to try things out with Lucas. When I kissed Lucas, I had no idea that Mason was going to come back that quick. And then he blew up at me without giving me a reason. I couldn't understand why he was getting so mad at me, when all I wanted to do was return Lucas's call.
I tried calling Mason's cell phone, and naturally he didn't answer. Mason was so frustrating. I couldn't keep up with what he wanted. I didn't want to have to deal with his shit, and I didn't want to wait for him to figure it out. So I called Lucas.
An hour later, I was heading towards the Lounge. It was a big building full of comfy couches, table, chairs, and a Starbucks store. It is literally the best thing this academy has to offer. However, like every other building, it was chaperoned. Because of the whole being almost expelled shindig, Lucas came up with the idea to tell anyone that asked that we were working on a project for class. Surely they won't deprive me of finishing my schoolwork.
After going home and showering, I had changed into a deep v-neck, spaghetti strapped grey tank top tucked into a pair of black shorts. I paired off the outfit with a simple black necklace and a pair of red heels. I just hoped to hell that I didn't run into Mason on my way.
Lucas was sitting at a table off in a corner. He smiled at me when I slid into the seat in front of him. I really hoped I wasn't making a mistake with this.
"Hey, wow, you look great." Lucas let out a low whistle.
I smiled. This was going to work out just fine. "Thank you.""I've been looking into the guys is those pictures that we found last night, and while I'm not done, I just want you to know that I am working on it."
I touched his hand on the table. "Thank you so much again for this, Lucas. I really appreciate it."
He smiled. "It's no problem."
When Lucas left to go get us some drinks, I pulled out my phone and updated Makayla and Natalie about my date. Mason hadn't called me back and I refused to text him.
"So how's the eye?" Lucas asked after he returned with our drinks.
I sighed. I had went throughout the whole day without being asked about my eye, until now. "Not as bad as it looks, trust me."
"Well it doesn't look bad if you ask me. It's barely noticeable.""I have it covered up with makeup right now. It'd look a hell of a lot worse if it wasn't."
He shook his head. "I'm sure it's not as bad as you think. It'd be hard to make you look bad."
Before I had the chance to reply, the crew just happened to show up. Tyler, Chase, and Riley pulled up a chair joining us at the table. I tried not to notice how Riley bluntly checked me out as he pulled his chair in right next to mine. "Hey guys," Lucas greeted them, obviously not happy about them showing up.
"I thought you were on house arrest, Bel," Tyler turned towards me.
"I am, but I'm hoping no one will notice me." I took a drink of my coffee and glanced around. None of the chaperones were looking our way. Maybe I'd actually have a night out without getting in trouble.
Well shit. I spoke too soon. I had scanned the room just in time to see Mason walk through the door. Lucas followed my gaze. "Do you want to go for a walk?" He quickly asked me.
"Sure," I stood up immediately, trying to leave before Mason noticed us.
"We're coming too," Riley stood up to join along with all Chase and Tyler.
