Sorry guys. I know I said I would update last week, but my internet went out, and I'm just now got it back. So please forgive me, and enjoy reading.
I was walking down the hall, wondering why the hell Eden had called me, so when I turned the corner and saw Izzy standing in the hallway, I wasn't the least bit surprised. Only my Izzy would get in trouble less than a hour after she came out from the headmistress' office. When I got close, I raised an eyebrow at her. "Babe, can I not leave you and trust you to stay out of trouble?"
"I didn't even do anything!" She exclaimed. "I literally was just sitting there." Of course. I tried to keep from laughing. She never thinks she does anything wrong. The whole thing to me was pretty comical.
Eden came into the hallway. Now maybe I'd finally get the story. "So what's going on here, Eden?"
"Well basically," Izzy started, but I slapped a hand over her mouth.
"Eden. Baby, I was talking to Eden."
I turned back to Eden. Sighing, she said, "She was on her phone during class, and when I asked her about it, she was extremely disrespectful."
"I was disrespectful?" Izzy scoffed. "Excuse you, woman, but I just answered your damn question. I don't see how that is disrespectful."
"Fuck off!" Eden snapped.
I couldn't hold back the gasp that came up. I have never in all the years I've known her heard Eden Millburn utter a curse word. I was completely floored. "I'm sorry," she muttered after a quick glance at me.
I narrowed my eyes at her in confusion. "What is going on here, Eden?"
She looked over at Izzy. "Elizabel, go back into the room and take your seat."
Izzy started to argue, but I sent her a look that shut her up real quick. With a sigh, she turned and headed back into the room. Once the door was closed, Eden turned back to me. "I'm sick and tired of it, Mason."
Now I was really confused. "Sick and tired of what?"
"Oh Elizabel!" She exclaimed. "I've been here for less than a week, and I'm taking time to teach a class on a SATURDAY which never happens but suddenly does-"
"Actually, this is the first and probably the only time we will have class on a Saturday. We had parents call in and then we ended up taking a poll cause the parents wanted their kids to be around a teacher or staff as much as possible since we just had the lock down-"
"Mason!" She cut me off. "That's beside the point! The point is that Elizabel Manning does whatever she wants, and you don't even seem to care. No one seems to care for that matter. She literally gets away with everything, and I'm sick and tired of it. What surprises me most is that you let her get away with it. What happened to your sense of discipline? You've always been determined to keep order. What happened to that? You've changed a lot, Mason. And I'm not sure it's for the better."
I took a deep breath. I loved having Eden as a friend, but she was talking about shit that she didn't even get. "Eden, you're a good friend, but you really just need to shut up right now, because you're pissing me off. You honestly are bitching about shit that's none of your damn business. You came down here when we haven't talked in almost a year, and you're trying to tell me how I should act? I'm sorry, but this is not how it's going to work. You're not just going to show up and tell me how to live my life. And you sure as hell aren't going to show up and complain about Izzy. Now if you got anything else to talk to me about, I'd be happy to listen, but if you're wanting to complain about Izzy, don't come running to me."
