Zayn's POV
We were in a management meeting. These were usually annoying situations where guys in suits told us what we were doing wrong. Even uncle Si would turn into part of management caring more about our rep that us.
"So boys", Simon says, "How are you all today?". I take in a deep breath. The others relied to him saying good and not bad and stuff.
"What's this about?", Niall asked
"It's about Lakshni", Janine, a person from management said.
"I'm not breaking up with her!", I stated. We are not little boys anymore. We were capable of making our own decisions.
"And we're not asking you to", He said. I sighed. Well at least that wasn't a risk.
"Then what?", I ask
"I want to give her a record deal", Simon says and I swear all our jaws hit the ground at the same time.
"She's an amazing singer and she is just the person people like. She appeals to different people and se offers One Direction a more international front as well", he says. I don't think any of us care about why. But he was signing her. This was amazing. She would be thrilled.
We spent the rest of the meeting talking about the new album. I zoned out completely.
When the meeting was over Simon went to talk to Lakshmi alone. The others guys went home and so did Lauren so it was just me waiting for Lakshmi to come back.
After about 15 minutes her and Simon came back in. Simon left so it was just us two.
"So how did it go? Did you take it?", I asked her impatiently.
"I said I'd think about it", she says and I could see that she wasn't really in this moment. Her eyes seemed so distant. No doubt she was thinking hard about whether to take it or not.
I decided not to push any further because knowing her she needed to make this decision on her own.
We drove back to my house and she was silent all the way back and when we came to the flat she just sat on the bed and stated at the wall.
I hoped so bad that she would take the deal. She loved to sing and she was always talking about changing the world and this would give her a chance to do that. But then she would also want to finish Uni. I don't know this is for her to decide.
