Without Shane's complete consent, the boy forces his way into being Shane's friend.
Although the boy is friendly, Shane notices that he is overconfident and uses Shane's shyness to always get his way.
"Hey Shane..." Kier checks, reaching across the table and stealing one of Shane's chips. "Can I borrow a chip?" He asks with his mouth full.
Shane shrugs, knowing that either answer he gives won't matter.
Kier's just about to steal another one so Shane manages to stop him by lightly tapping his hand. This makes Kier grin.
"You eat so slowly and I'm still hungry." He playfully whines.
"The only way you're getting more of my food is if you do like Wendy and try to drool on it first." Shane jokes.
Kier giggles before trying to dribble.
"Stop that!" Shane tries not to laugh. "Kier, that's just disgusting!"
"You did say that's how I'll be able to help you with your chips." He replies, quickly taking another one and eating it before Shane can stop him.
"Hey!" Shane whines.
Kier smirks, chewing with his mouth open to irritate Shane. Pouting, he pats his dog on the head to make Kier envious. It works instantly.
"Wendy! Here girl!" Kier tries.
The dog looks at Kier again before Shane gives her belly a rub, getting her to stay with him. To reward her, Shane gives her a chip.
"That's my girl." He smiles, smirking at the jealous look Kier is giving him.
"That's so not fair, just because she's your pet." Kier complains with a playful pout.
"It is, because she's my pet." Shane giggles.
Kier smirks for a moment before starting a conversation. "Do you wanna come with me to the high street?"
Shane shrugs. "I'm not sure." He replies.
"Come on, you can bring Wendy!" The outgoing orphan tries.
"Yeah, I know, I'm just not feeling up to facing the world just yet." Shane tries.
"Why the hell not?" Kier checks.
"If I see..." Shane starts before sighing. "I just can't, Kier I'm sorry."
"Do you ever go out?" Kier groans a little in frustration.
"What of it?" Shane snaps.
Kier goes quiet for a moment before working it out. "This has something to do with that old friend of yours, doesn't it?"
"Just stay out of it Kier, you can do what you want but don't try to bring me out there as well. You have no idea what happened so don't you dare ever try to bring me out there against my will." Shane warns.
"What if while we're out you'll see him?" Kier tries.
Shane shakes his head firmly. "I don't need to go out to think I see him. I'll see every blond boy and I'll think it's him over and over again. It might be funny for you to watch me make a fool of myself but I can't do it anymore. Plus, I'd need to ask Luke and Jack for permission to leave and I doubt they'll say that I can." Shane mutters.
"You're sixteen years old, of course they'll let you leave, it's a privilege that we have." Kier points out. "So what if you tried to chase a car onto a busy road? You were eight years old! You've grown beyond that by now, you must have."
"Kier shut up!" Shane yells.
Kier goes pale at the sound of Shane this angry, only able to stare as Shane gets up, getting Wendy to follow him back to his room where he'll lock himself in for as long as it takes for Kier to apologise.
