After the first week of working, Kier gets them to allow Shane to take the day off to move into their new place.
Shane takes a moment to look at all of the boxes on the bed, containing everything he owns as well as whatever Drew left behind.
Kier enters the room looking enthusiastic. "Are you ready?" He excitedly checks, clapping his hands childishly.
Seeing Kier like this makes Shane chuckle. "My things are packed, aren't they?" He replies.
Kier hears the seriousness in his friend's tone and calms himself down, sitting next to his friend to talk to him. "I wasn't just talking about the things. You must have a lot of memories here. Do you think you're still ready to move on?" Kier checks.
Shane looks around at his room, remembering how his last moments with Drew took place here and all of the memories come flooding in. As expected, the bad memories flush out the good. "I hate this place." Shane admits.
"Seriously?" Kier checks.
"Wendy, Luke, you... Drew, they all are the best things I've ever had." Shane admits. "I'm gonna miss Luke and the little miniature landmarks my mind has made out of the memories I have of Drew but if this is going to bring me closer to you and Wendy then I'm all for it." Shane smiles.
"That was beautiful, slightly homo but beautiful." Kier grins back.
"Shut up." Shane chuckles.
Luke walks into the room, smiling at two boys. "Are you two ready to leave?" He asks.
Shane gets up instantly and hugs Luke tightly. Luke hugs him back, stroking Shane's hair.
"You will check up on us won't you?" Luke checks.
"It's not like I'm never coming back." Shane sniffs. "With my job I'll be turning up weekly."
"I know, you'll never lose me." Luke replies, rubbing Shane's back.
Shane nods, pulling away from the hug with a sniff.
"I thought I would be the most emotional." Kier smirks.
"Shut up." Shane chuckles.
"In fairness Kier, Shane's almost a son to us, he's been here all his life." Luke points out.
Kier laughs before faking tears. "See, I told you all I could cry on command." He cries dramatically.
"C'here." Luke chuckles, pulling Kier into a big bear hug.
"You're the best Luke." Kier chuckles.
When Luke pulls away he smiles at the both of them. "The moving van's waiting for you out front."
Kier instantly picks up one of Shane's boxes and carries it out.
"You're really okay with finally leaving this place?" Luke checks.
"It's not like Kier will give me the choice but yeah." Shane smiles. "There's probably some orphan out there that will need my room anyway." He adds.
Wendy leans against Luke tenderly.
"I don't know about Jack but I'll miss hearing the pitter patter of Wendy running around everywhere." Luke adds, stroking her behind the ears.
"She's getting a bit old now to be surrounded by kids all the time." Shane sighs before crouching at her level and giving her her favourite toy. "Give this to Kier, girl." He tells her, rubbing her ears before she trots off.
"You've really trained her well." Luke points out.
"She made it easy." Shane replies with a smirk.
