Drew wakes up to find that the room is completely empty. His chest feels heavier than he can vaguely remember so he forces himself to look down, despite how tiring it is. He feels exposed when he realises that his scrubs have been cut open and left that way. His eyes water and he looks around again to try to see if maybe he missed seeing his mother, feeling sore from whatever they did during the surgery.

To try to shield himself from anything that is threatening, he tries to cover himself up but he's too tired and simply slips away again.

The next time Drew wakes up, he can see a nurse next to him, slightly hurt that there's still no sign of either parent.

"How're you feeling?" The nurse asks Drew, injecting something onto one of the clear bags next to Drew's bed.

Drew takes a moment trying to wet his dry mouth before hardly croaking "sore and tired."

"Then nothing out of the ordinary." The nurse sighs, just about to leave the room.

"Wait!" Drew pleads. "Where are my parents?" He asks.

The nurse looks guilty for a moment. "Your father left before your surgery and your mother told us she'd pick you when you are free to go." She explains.

"When will that be?" Drew checks.

"The day after tomorrow, you slept for longer than I think any of us were expecting." The nurse explains.

"How long was that?" Drew asks.

"Two whole days an hour ago." The nurse replies.

Drew instantly whimpers at the thought of this, having heard stories of people never waking up after surgery.

"There's nothing to worry about, your surgery went perfectly." The nurse reassures. "I know that it might seem like you're here for a long time but it's standard procedure to keep a patient for four days after the surgery to make sure that they've healed up enough to be sent home. There's also observation but it's better than it sounds."

Drew trembles at the thought of being watched, even while he's sleeping, the fact that he's going to be sleeping in the hospital already makes him extremely tense.

"Is there a way that you can get one of my parents here?" Drew whimpers. "I j-just need someone here."

"Don't worry, I can't understand what they are thinking leaving you at a time like this. I'll see if I can get in contact with them." The nurse sympathises.

Drew tries to stay awake for longer than he did last time but drifts back to sleep again.

Drew wakes up in the middle of the night with a shriek, feeling cold, scared and confused on where he is. He hugs himself, screaming.

Doctors and nurses instantly enter the room he's being kept in. Drew becomes more horrified at this, trying to fight them off when they try to pin him down to the bed.

"What's going on?" One of the doctors checks sternly.

"The Bakers' kid is freaking out." One of the nurses replies.

"You'd think with all that money under the table they'd at least make sure their child doesn't cause any problems." The doctor mutters.

Drew manages to knock over the table next to the bed but this makes all of them pin him down a lot more securely. Out of pure terror, Drew keeps screaming for help.

"Calm down. We're doctors. You're going to be fine." The main doctor tells Drew but Drew's too busy screaming and trying to escape to pay attention.
