Lexi lugged herself out of bed, school had been a drag, practice had been hard, and now that she was free, she could lay in her bed, well, that was until Jace called her downstairs. Lexi trampled down the stairs, into the kitchen. "What is so important that I had to be disturbed and forced out of my bed? You know this is why Petunia has trust issues. I tell her I'll stay for a while but then I get interrupted and have to leave her. This is not healthy for our relationship." Lexi said, sprawling herself across the counter, the cool marble surface pleasant on her skin. "Who's Petunia?" Jace asked, not even looking up from grading his papers. "My bed, Jace."
"I don't think it's healthy to be in a relationship with an inanimate object, or to name your bed." He stated.
"Well I don't think you can give relationship advice seeing as you are still single." Lexi shot back.
"I choose to be single Alexis."
"Sure. Rejection can be a harsh. I'm sure you'll find somebody someday." Lexi said twirling a strand of hair in her fingers. "Why did you want me here anyways?"
"Because you ran off earlier before I could tell you that tonight is the fair, and you are required to go."
"What? Why?"
"Because it's a school event, and Dallas and Garrett and I won't be here, and needless to say, none of us trust to leave you and your siblings alone." Jace pointed out.
Lexi wrinkled her nose, "Fine. What time are we leaving?"
"Around seven."
"Good, enough time for a nap." Lexi said sitting up and jumping from the counter.

Lexi trod up the stairs, then entered Greyson's room. "Did you know we are going to the fair tonight?"
"Yeah."
"Why didn't you say anything?"
"Because when I tried to talk to you, you said and I quote, 'Leave me alone or you will find yourself wearing your intestines outside of your body.'"
"Oh, I guess I did." Lexi answered, "Think it will be fun?"
"Yeah, I think so. I mean, nothing suggests that it won't be."
"Okay, well I'm going to take a nap."
"You realize that it will only be an hour nap?"
Lexi looked at her watch, it was already 5:45.
"Dang it." She said. "I'll speed nap."
"Mmhm." Greyson said going back to his video game. "Watchya playing?" Lexi asked.
"Halo four."
"Maybe a nap can wait, hand me a controller."

Lexi shoved Greyson as they got into the car, "Move it you big oaf."
Greyson tapped the side of her head, moving even slower.
"Brielle! It's time to go!" Garrett called. After a second Brielle emerged from the house, and ran to the car. "Sorry." She said buckling herself up. "Why is Dallas taking the truck?"
"Because the school asked him to bring it to carry some heavy stuff out for the fair. You want to go ride with him?"
"No, I'll stay here." Brielle said a little too fast.
Garrett smirked.

Lexi, Greyson and Brielle had been roaming around the fair for an hour, playing games and riding the rides. Finally they all sat down eating carnaval food, and shared a large soda. Brielle scanned the fair, her eyes darting back and forth between people, looking for Chess. He was nowhere to be seen. Brielle sighed, she had hoped that she would be able to apologize to him about earlier, but now she wasn't going to get the chance.

Lexi stole the soda from Greyson and took a huge gulp. She set it down and heard it slosh inside the cup, "I have to pee." She said absentmindedly, looking for the bathroom.
"Then go." Greyson said taking the soda cup back. Lexi leaned into him grabbing his arm and shook it violently, "What if I get kidnapped, or aliens abduct me? Or what if I get carried away by the Cotton candy monster?" She cried tragically.
"Don't worry, if anyone, human or not, kidnaps you, they'll bring you back." Greyson said in a dead tone not even bothering to look at her.

"How kind of you, so worried about my well being. I can't go alone."

"Do not tell me you are one of those girls who takes an entourage with her to the bathroom."

"Fine, I'll go alone, but if anything happens to me, you are to blame, letting your poor defenseless sister go to the bathroom alone."

"Yeah, defenseless as a ninja assassin." Greyson shot back. Lexi nodded her head.
"Exactly."
"Just go pee."
"Brielle wanna come with?"
"Um..." Brielle said not really paying attention, "I'm going to look for a friend really quick." She finished getting up and walking into the crowd.
"What's with her?" Lexi asked turning back to Greyson. She winced, bringing her leg up and pulling a splinter out.
"Don't know." Greyson said finishing the soda and tossing the cup into a nearby trash can. "Go pee and then meet me by the dunking station. I wanna see Luke get dunked, his mom is making him volunteer, poor guy." He laughed.
"Fine, but save a ball for me to throw." Lexi said standing up and brushing the back of her thighs for more splinters.
