Anne's POV
"I have wants and needs. And you happen to be what I want and need Ann. You are the only person that can fuffill my wants and needs."I wrap my arms around Jake and my wolf whines with fulfillment.
"You make me complete Jake. Like I'm not some lost puppy that no one wants. You make me feel like I am your world." I look into his deep green eyes. "You are my world Ann. My happiness, my sunshine. My very reason to live." He lends down and places a thirsty kiss on my lips.
I feel a hot liquid on my face. Blood. Blood drips from Jakes eyes. I scream. "Jake! Jake!" I hit him in the chest panicking for an answer. Jake turns into a women with blue eyes and long blond hair. Her hand are talons and her fingers are covered in Jakes blood.
She reaches for me. I try to move, but my feet are planted to the ground that is an ocean of blood. "Now to take the blood of the virgin wolf! He was never yours darling only mine. Mine! You mean nothing. You bratty little whore." She laughs evilly as her talons sink into my skin.
I try to scream as searing pain eprurts in my body. Then I'm drowning in the blood as the woman holds me under the blood.
"Ann! Ann!" A man shouts. I feel someone shaking me. "Please don't kill me please." I beg as I open my eyes to see it was all a dream. I gasp for air as the memory of the dream fades.
Someone tired to kill me in my sleep. Grandmother warned me of the white witch. The white witch tries to kill people that oppose her or get in her way of something she wants in their sleep. Grandmother warned she may target me.
I asked grandmother why and she told me because she's evil. But actually I remember a memory of telling Jake this and he told me the truth.
"You grandmother provoked the white witch." My mouth hung open. I was completely shocked. "What do you mean my grandmother provoked the white witch." I stood up and held my hands in tight fist. Why would he make this up?
"She wouldn't let her have you. Nor would I." He stood then pulling me to his chest. I was 13. By goddess my grandmother erased fairly new memories I had with Jake. Reality hits me like a wrecking ball. As I notice I'm clinging to Marvin's chest and he's trying to quiet me.
I don't know if these are angry or sad tears my wolf is still confused. But I believe that the truth is I'm confused. I've had my memories erased then stabbed back into my head. I wish I could take this knife and cut my throat with it. Because apparently it isn't sharp, but dull with lies.
I breath out a heavy sigh and push Marvin away. I look at his hurt eyes. But then they turn cold. He reaches out and grabs my hand forcefully.
"I asked if you were ok Ann." I shake my head. Then I notice we are sitting in the middle of the woods. Everything that happened comes back to me. I tripped over a tree root and hit my head on a rock. Just my luck or should I say the white witch can't kill me in my sleep if I'm awake.
"Marvin." He stares coldly at me. I give him a wicked smile. "The white witch wants to play games with me!" I laugh hysterically. Marvin jumps up from the ground and puts his hand over my mouth before I can say anything else.
Then I hear voices muttering into the wind. "Do not summon the white witch." His hot breath kisses my neck and I hear the fear in his voice. I look around at the trees. I see spirits in them clinging to their board branches.
I feel a weird sensation like a spider climbing up my spine. "Why did you take me here?" I whisper so I'm sure the spirits don't hear me. He points to one of the spirits. Then I have an image of a women with black hair like Jake and the same stunning green eyes. Then I understand the spirit is Mary.
My eyes widen. "Take care of him. If anyone needs taking care of it's Marvin. He can get carried away sometimes. So forgiven him dear. But don't give up on your quest find Stacy free yourself. Set the salve free let him be. He's not a bad person only confused by the white witch as are you darling. You make Jake happy you always have. I don't know how to thank you for that. That's who you belong with. Marvin has a chance at a second chance mate, but she isn't you. But the white witch hides this from you. I'm afraid that she closer to you than you know. But as the nonliving I am only aloud to say so much to the living. Find my son and give him the life you and him deserve. The rest will fall into place trust me dear." The spirits vanish.
Tears well in my eyes. "Did you see them?" I look down at the ground as my tears drop to the grass. Mary talked to me. Why couldn't she talk to Marvin? "See who?" Marvin remarks confused. "The spirits." I point to the tree.
I speak up before he can answer. "Is that why you took me here. To see them the spirits in the trees." He turns me to face him and he wipes my tears from my face. "No. I.." He shakes his head and balls his fist. I can see the hurt in his eyes.
"Mary loved it here. She said she'd always been her in mind, body or spirit it didn't matter if she was dead or alive. That's what she told me. I don't no why I took you here. Maybe because I couldn't face this place alone." Tears fall from his eyes.
"Mary was a great mother and wife. She loved her children and me. She always found away to make the bad in me good. To replace my smile when it was gone. She had the strikingly gorgeous hair like yours." He twist my hair around his fingers and gives me a sad smile.
"She was my everything. My missing piece and my sanity." He chuckles. But I can hear his pain. "I so sorry." I kiss his cheek. He points at me. "And she always knew the right things to say. She was Rebellious like you. She wouldn't take no for an answer and she won't quit till she got the results she wanted." He sighs.
Then He shrugs his shoulders. "That's what Jamie pointed out to me about you?" I raise my eyebrows. "Who's Jamie?" He smiles. "She doesn't matter." He wraps me in his arms. "But you do." He kisses my neck. He trails up to my marking all the way to my lips. I feel the confusion of my wolf. It takes a lot out of me to push away, but I do.
I give him a small sad smile. "I'm not Mary. Trust me when I say I'm not the one for you. As much as you hurt for Mary, I hurt for Jake. It's the same as a mate dieing because we are breaking our souls from each other. Breaking away from what's meant to be and even more than that I loved him before he was my mate. He's the wolf of my dreams. My sanity. But I promise you I can make you both happy." I gently say.
The softness in his eyes break in anger. He catches me off guard when he pins me to the ground. "It's not the same and you're rightfully mine!" He yells pointing an accusing finger at me.
I push him off me. Way to ruin a perfect moment. I stand up and hold my chin high. I never been the one to step down instead I take three steps up. "Rightfully yours so stealing is completely okay. Because last I checked I was Jakes mate." He smiles about how I saw in past tense was his.
I huff. " I can't believe Mary just told me you weren't evil and I started to believe her, but you attacked me."
His wolf takes over and he shifts. He growl and snarls. I see his pearly white sharp teeth. Challenging my wolf, is a bad decision. She's confused and on very high alert. I let her take over. Let's fight big boy.
I hear my bones cracking and the pain only intensifies my hurt and pain I've been feeling. But for some reason it feels good. Am I going mad? Let's just see how mad I can be. I'm gonna tear that brown wolf skin off your body Marvin let you feel my pain. Because I'm tired of feeling yours.
