Chapter 20 - Complicated

~Phil's POV~

I walked into the room and saw Dan sitting on the edge of the bed.

"You really don't remember?" I whispered.

"I wish I did, but I don't. But I'm curious, tell me about it."

I smiled and sat in the chair next to the bed.

"Where do I begin?"

"The beginning."

I told Dan the whole story from start to finish with every detail.

"Wow. We've been through so much. Now I see why you were so hurt when I didn't remember. I'm so sorry," Dan frowned.

Dan and I hugged for at least ten minutes.

"Who is the girl?" Dan questioned.

"That's Persephone. You two have a complicated story."

"Complicated? How so?"

I explained their story.

"Damn. So why does she stick around?"

"Because she truly loves you. She wants to be with you more than anything. You're exactly the same, and you're both just too perfect."

"No, Phil. If there is one thing I know, it's that I'm anything but perfect."

I took his hands in mine and looked him in eyes, "You are perfect. You may not be perfect to yourself, but to Seph you are perfect. You're perfect to fill the giant hole in her heart. Seph isn't herself without you. Without you she's half a person. Daniel James Howell you complete her. You make her whole. You and only you are everything she has ever needed and everything she ever will need. I know you may not understand that now but I promise it's true."

"I think I understand. Phil, can I talk to her?"

"Of course. I'll go get her."

I stood up to go out the door.

I poked my head out the door, "Hey, Seph. Dan wants to see you."

She slowly got up, straighted out her clothes, and took a deep breath.

"What does he know?"

"I told him about us. And he asked about you so, I told him about you and him."

"How did he react?"

"He asked to see you."

"Okay. I can go in now."

" I'll wait out here," I stated, blankly.

Seph hugged me, "Thank you, Phil." Before I could question her, she had disappeared into Dan's room, closing the door behind her. I frowned and slid to the floor.
