Hannah's POV
"Did you find anything? Any clues to where she went?", I asked weakly. "Honey, I think you are hallucinating. You don't have a sister.", said the jerk of a police officer. "I do! She is my twin! You have to find her!", I pleaded. The lady just left our bedroom. I heard her say something to my mom and dad then leave. I held back tears. I have to find my sister! Even if no one will help me!
I stomped down stairs to see my parents sitting calmly. "Sweetie, I think we should talk.", said my dad. I felt my rage starting to build up. We should be looking for her, not talking! But I took a deep breath and sat down. "Dear, I am going to schedule a councilor appointment for you. I think it will help you deal with the lose of this "Grace".", said my mother sweetly. That's it! My patience is gone! "You evil people! You don't even feel bad that Grace is gone!", I said with rage surging through my veins. My parents looked at me shocked. Finally my mom said,"Who is this "Grace"?" Then I realized something. "You wouldn't remember her.", I said coldly. With that I walked out of the kitchen and dragged my feet up the stairs.
I got into the shower, turning the facet only up. I took a deep breath as the cold water hit my back. I really need to find her.
When I got out of the shower, I slipped into a pair of pj's: black soffee shorts, a teal tank top that said "I'd rather be in Montauk" on it, and I decided to put on one of Grace's sweatshirts, which I found in my closet along with the rest of Grace's clothes. It was like they belonged there, but I knew they didn't. I also noticed that Grace's bed and dresser weren't in the room. Nether was her desk or bookshelf. It's like she was erased from the Earth!
I remember her still, thou. I remember when she was little and wouldn't skate board with me because the chances she would get hurt were 7268272536.....%.
And when she was a kindergartener and beat an 8th grader to win the spelling bee for our state. And when she won a high school science fair as a 9 year old, just because a kid named Jeremy said she couldn't do it. And when, in 7th grade, gave a few bruises to a kid because he made fun of me for being the "Stupid Twin". My favorite memory of all, when me and her went to Montauk and she built a 10 foot tall sandcastle and I rode a killer wave and fell, accidentally knock over the castle, and she bursted out laughing for my clumsiness. She wouldn't let me forget that for weeks, even thou I destroyed her masterpiece.
I smiled as I fell slowly to sleep, dreaming of waves crashing against the shore of Grace and my favorite beach. If I would have know the pain Grace was in, I wouldn't have slept soundly. I wouldn't have slept at all.
