Each morning, I feed the dogs and leave to get anything my Mum wanted from the General Store. Today, I found a note, ordering me to go and mail some letters that had been left in the kitchen.

I left with the letters after feeding the dogs. It wasn't quite as cold today. The post office wasn't to far away either so it didn't take to long to get there.
"Hi, I want to mail these letters, please," I past the letter to the man behind the desk. He nodded and went about posting them.
"Hiya!" I heard behind me. I jumped a little before turning around.
"Hi, Roxy," I smiled. She smiled back. "I guess you're at work,"
"I am!" She nodded and left behind the counter.
"That'll be $1.44," The man told me and I past him some money.
"Thanks," I replied before leaning over to see Roxy.
"I'm going to finish work in about and hour," she smiled
"Yeah," I nodded and stood, watching her weigh out dog food.
"I thought we could meet up with the dogs, maybe," she beamed from ear to ear
"That would be great!" I nodded, enthusiastically.
"If you bring Diamond, I'll bring my dog. We can meet outside of the General store in an hour," she told me. I thought for a moment.
"I'll go home and tell my parents I'm going out. Then, I'll get Diamond ready," I planned everything out.
"Perfect!" Roxy tucked her purple hair behind her ear on the long side and grinned.

"Mom! Dad! I'm taking Diamond out for a walk!" I yelled as I searched for the lead. At the word 'walk', Diamond began barking and running around. I grabbed my coat and pulled it on.
"I thought you normally take her out for walks after dinner?" I heard my my Mum say from the kitchen. I pushed my head into the room. Aunt Lily was there too.
"Yeah but I thought the weather was so nice and..." I suddenly remembered that I was really rather cold outside. My reasoning had failed. I continued my search for the lead.
"Alright, have fun," Mum sighed and turned back to Lily. I found the lead on the kitchen side and went to leave with Diamond.
"He's going to see a girl, isn't he?" Mum laughed
"He is so going to see a girl," Lily agreed, a smile on her face.

"Hey," I bounded over to Roxy.
"Hi," she smiled "This is Rusty," she gestured to the small dog on a lead next to her. "He's a Border Terrier,"
"He's cute," I looked at the dog. He wasn't very big but was sturdy and had a broad skull. His fur was short, wiry and a reddish-copper coat.
"Oh, I've got a great idea!" Roxy smiled "Follow me!"
Suddenly, I was whisked away on part of my life that cannot be describe as anything but amazing. A part of my life that I will never forget.
