Bang.
The gun-shot sounded and a chorus of shouts from mushers sounded.
"Hike! Hike!" I called. Diamond bolted forward, pulling the sled with her. I leaned forward, holding the handle bar, and began to navigate our way through the other sled teams. "Haw!" I yelled, giving Diamond the command to go left. She dodged another team and we over took them. "Gee!" I called. She swerved right, over taking another team.
It didn't take too long until we were making our way up the mountain. We had over taken a lot of the other teams and were in about fourth place.
"Hike! Hike!" I encouraged Diamond on. We made it past another team. This was gonna be easy.
