Pulling Life from the Ashes

My walking speeds with the increasing urgency. I was wrong I do feel something inside. I need him. Please don't let him be dead.
A figure is slightly visible through the smoke. I reach for my sword and remember its gone and instead brace for a fight.
"Shiloh!" I hear her before I see her.
Samantha emerges from the smoke and hugs me tight ,Colton emerges behind her with a long cut going across his side.
I have hug her back and say "you guys were supposed to get out"
Colton speaks up and says "well we did and then she made me turn back around,luckily we experienced very little of the explosion."
I let go of Sam and the urgency wells in my chest again."Did you see where Noah went or anyone else"
"We saw someone shoot into the woods not to far from here" Sam says. Colton nods and they lead me to where they believe the person landed.
We walk for a short while and come to a figure. As we walk nearer they clear up and are revealed to be Uela and Xalvo ,the clothes on Xalvo are tattered and mostly burnt off. He is standing carrying Uela in his arms. His mouth is firmly connected to Uela's who has her arms twined around his neck as Xalvo holds her in his arms. Colton, Sam, and I stop silent and speechless. Uela's arm has fully healed and Xalvo seems to be a full strength if the intensity of the kiss was any indication of health. They pull away and Uela sees immediately and whispers in Xalvos ear. He turns around smiling and says "Don't all of you speak at one time now."
"So are you two like a thing?" Sam says.
"Not really establ-" Xalvo starts
"Yes" Uela says and she runs her gaze up Xalvos nearly exposed body.
"Ew" I hear Samantha say.
"So where's Noah and the others and where's Calypso" Colton asks ,breaking into the big picture again.
Xalvo smiles and for a moment I feel unsafe. I've never seen him smile so wide or be so happy about anything.
"As it turns out an incredibly powerful blade and an explosion worthy of a record does indeed kill an immortal witch bitch" he exclaims he reaches to the ground and holds up a bloodied mangled severed head. The the neck opening spews blood at the moment and where one of her cheeks should be is a gaping hole showing the blood soaked inside. She was barely recognizable but definitely dead.
"Can you be sure its her?" Sam asks.
Xalvo looks down at it a moment and says "Oh yeah, she was much more recognizable before Uela and I had a little bit of a dinner date" he smiles wider revealing bloodstained teeth."In fact the head is all that's left madame" he drops the head and closes his eyes in satisfaction.
"Yeah more like a snack date and Xalvy ate most of it" Uela says and wraps her arms around him from behind.
I turn away and run my hand down my face. Xalvy. Gross. I wonder if this is how I look to other people when I talk about Noah.
I still need to find him.
"Where's Noah" I ask Xalvo
"Well the master is around somewhere and he's fine I don't feel a barrier anymore" he says "when you find him tell him well have to relocate in case you haven't put two and two together the manor is gone"
I think of everything I have experienced in that house. The nights with him. The training. The intimacy.
I turn away so I don't give away my emotions to anyone. Im left staring straight at a soot black wolf watching me it notices me bows its head down and bolts.
Instinct catches me before logic does and I'm running after it. After awhile I lose track of it and I kick at the ground in frustration. Then I hear voices I follow them to a heavily wooded area and I'm met with Tati and Raniel bent over something. Tati looks up and I see it's not good news. She motions for me to come closer.
Soon I'm standing over Joseph's dying body. One of his legs are gone and he's impaled on a jagged tree stump. No doubt where he land after the explosion.
I drop to my knees and grab his hand. He saved everyone he can't just die. Joseph recognizes me and weakly says "we won? She's dead?"
Tears sting my eyes and I can only nod my head without choking on my own voice. Vampire or not I don't think he'll make it his heart has been obliterated by the jagged wood.
He laughs, dark blood dribbling out of his mouth. He nods to Raniel who takes something out from between his wings. It's the sword that helped kill her. Joseph's all powerful blade. Raniel hands it to me and Joseph chokes out "It belongs to you now. I killed its master for it and your explosion has killed me". Guilt riddles me as I take the sword.
Joseph lays his head back closes his eyes and his head falls limp to the ground. A tear drops from my eye and even Raniel stays silent.
I wait a long time before saying "to the west are more survivors I'll be there shortly" choking on the word survivor. They head away and I sit beside Joseph and uselessly apologize to him. I begin walking back and that same wolf is sitting beside a tree staring at me with large brown eyesIt morphs and shifts into the man I love. Soon Noah is standing there, head down still shirtless.
"Are you okay?" He asks, voice low.
"I've been better I mean you kinda kicked my ass" I say with a twisted smile.
"I'm sorry Shiloh" he says "I didn't mean to do any of that"
"I know" I say
We stay silent for a while. I say "no matter what I still love you and I still want to be with you". I walk closer to him and I rub his cheek and his eyes light up like when I first rubbed his cheek. He pulls me closer and I say " I know you didn't have control and all I lived for was to save you and love you forever ". I kiss him softly on the lips and he pulls me even closer and kisses me hungrily, squeezing me to him. I pull away and say " are you okay baby?". He says "other than hurting you I'm okay I missed kissing you" I grab his hand and lead him to the others. When we arrive to where everyone else is. Everyone turns and looks at Noah. Xalvo walks over and hugs him tightly and says " master welcome back". He says "thank you xalvo". I say " you don't know these two but this is Colton and Raniel, they are angels who helped us get you back and Colton over here also was sent down to protect me well my human half". Noah says " its a pleasure to meet you both and thank you very much Colton for keeping shiloh safe". Colton says "its no problem at all she is quite the keeper". Noah walks over to Colton and shakes his hand, that's a sight I thought I'd never see a 600 year old demon shaking an angels hand. Uela hugs Noah and says " welcome back master". Noah faces Tati and says " do I know you? ". Tati says " no but you knew my grandmother Calypso, don't worry I'm not here to hurt you I'm on your guys side". He cautiously smiles and says "thank you".
" now this reunion certainly is wonderful but there is a matter of which estate we are moving to now master" Xalvo says speaking above the chatter.
I look at him and say "you have more?"
He looks at me and for the first time in a long time he laughs his familiar laugh and says "I'm over 6 centuries old ,of course"
"So where to Master Vangraff?" Xalvo asks. Noah says wrapping his arm around me "How about the old Gli Amanti Della Morte in Florence Italy". Xalvo raises his brow and says " I thought you hated that place master?". Noah says "I'm willing to try again" he looks Into my eyes "besides I didn't have a family back then and now I do".

Hey guys this is the final chapter for this book. I really hoped you guys liked it my Co-Writer and I really enjoyed writing it. If your still interested their is going to be a sequel the next book is called " Blu Notte". It's a work in progress but go check it out when it's uploaded. :)
