Chapter Eight
“Evelyn is this true?”
I looked up onto my father’s face, almost forgetting that I was an angel and he was God and that we were in Heaven, almost.
“Yes it is true father,” I replied.
He sighed, before rubbing his temples, “Very well, you are obliged to your own free will”.
“Yes, I know,” I responded nonchalantly.
“You do know of the process which you need to take in order to give up your wings?” he asked.
“Yes, I do. I both lose my wings and become one of the fallen ones or I give up my wings and become a human,” I answered.
He smiled, “I’m proud of you Evelyn, your knowledge is vast however there is one other option that you’re forgetting”.
I narrowed my eyes, “I will not consider becoming a demon father”.
“I understand Evelyn. Perhaps you may want to sleep on your options?” he asked me.
I sighed, knowing that I wouldn’t get my father to change his mind today, “Very well”.
“Oh and Evelyn,” he called out as I made my way out.
“Yes?” I stopped and looked back at him.
“Get a demon to clean up your wound; it has been touched by my brother’s horns. Only a demon’s blood may cut through Satan’s power,” the lord said.
I shuddered, thinking of the demon, Lucifer. I merely nodded and walked away, towards my room in Heaven. I passed some of the angels that were lingering amongst the clouds. They each stared at me with disbelief. The stories of me and the demon have been travelling fast, no doubt because of Michael.
I finally found my room and entered its warmth. The walls were painted a light shade of cream, so that it looked as though the sun had just began to set, sending its golden rays across the walls. My four post bed lay against the east wall; the wood was encrusted with warm light pink stones that shone with a brilliant glow. The soft sheets were a light shade of a rosy pink, dappled with small dainty golden roses.
I slowly ran my fingers along the bed, letting the warmth of Heaven’s magnificent aura seep through my body. Was I doing the right thing in deciding on not to be angel any longer? I shook my head and the thoughts away; father said I may sleep on it. I didn’t have to truly decide until tomorrow.
Right now I needed to find a demon, or more specifically Lucifer, who I knew would help me with my wound, even if it came with a price. I stretched out my wings and yawned glancing out of my window that lay over my bed. Clouds and angels floated around, so many different warm auras and happy smiles, yet none were truly gifted with their own free will, if they did consider having a free will, it was because it rotated around their own human or the humans in whole.
I was aroused out of my thoughts when I heard a knock on my door. With a heavy sigh, I stood and walked over to the door. I opened it only to reveal an angry looking Urial; he was the first angel that I had seen so far that actually seemed to possess any emotions that were negative.
“How could you Evelyn?” he demanded, pushing past me and entering my room.
I sighed, “It does not concern you”.
He spun around and glared, “Yes it does Evelyn! You’re allowing yourself to be taken willingly by a demon!”
My eyes widened, “No I am not! I just don’t want to be an angel anymore Urial, that’s all!”
