19 weeks in, and, after some debating, Kitty, Jon, and (Y/N) went to the doctor's office, keeping the fact that they were going to find out the sex of the new baby a secret from the little girl.
In the little room, (Y/N) sat on a chair, nervous. She tugged on Jon's sleeve, and he turned and looked at her.
"Is the baby okay?" (Y/N) asked, worried. "Is Mommy okay?"
Jon smiled and ruffled her hair. "Yes, baby. They're both okay. Do you want to be held?"
She nodded, and Jon scooped her up as the doctor strolled in and instructed Kitty to lay back on the table. Kitty obeyed and laid back, lifting up her shirt just to expose the growing bump. The doctor pulled on his rubber gloves, applying that weird, clear gel to Kitty's bump.
(Y/N) watched with great interest--this is her new sister or brother she's gonna see once again. She spent days looking at the ultrasound pictures hung up on the fridge, but it was better in person. With Jon holding her, she got a better view of the screen.
The doctor placed the wand on Kitty's stomach, and you watched the screen intently, smiling at the growing fetus.
"So, I'm assuming you scheduled this appointment to know whether it's a boy or girl?" The doctor questioned, looking from the screen to Jon, then to Kitty.
"Yes, please, we'd like to know," Jon said with a small nod. (Y/N) looked excitedly between her parents, the doctor, and the screen. The doctor smiled and moved the wand a little, then pointed to the screen and looked back at you.
"You see that, (Y/N)?" He asked, and you nodded excitedly. "Well, say hello to your little baby brother."
"Hiya, baby brother," you said, the excitement in your voice making it an octave higher. "I can't wait for you to come and play with me! We're gonna have so much fun!"
"A little baby boy," Jon murmured, his grin from ear to ear.
"Congratulations, you three," the doctor said, taking the wand from Kitty's stomach and wiping the gel off. "See you again in a month or so, Kitty."
Kitty nodded, speechless. The only other time she was like this is when they first saw (Y/N), the feeling of love racing through her veins.
Sure, her parents were on the brink of tears, but (Y/N) was probably the most excited she had ever been in her entire time with Kitty and Jon. Hell, she was never more excited in her entire life.
For the first time ever, she was gonna be a big sister.
