After you and Oli got off the bus, everyone was still at your house, preparing the backyard for an awesome party, as your family seemed to be good at throwing together.
Oliver followed you inside, and you two dropped your backpacks at the door, surprised to see a line of your toys leading to the kitchen. Exchanging a look, you and Oliver followed the path, picking up the toys as you passed them. Dumping them on the counter, you gasped at the two cupcakes, iced and decorated beautifully like Mickey and Minnie Mouse.

You took the Minnie one, Oliver already digging into the Mickey cupcake, and a sticky note was stuck to the wrapper of yours. You peeled it off and read it slowly, sounding out the sounds carefully:
"Come outside, you two," you read, and both you and Oliver exchanged a look before walking to the back door, still munching on your cupcakes. Oliver opened the door, and the two of you walked out, gaping at your beautifully decorated backyard.

"Welcome home, you two," Kitty called, placing bowls of chips and non-microwaved popcorn on tables. "How was school?"
You were too amazed to answer, and Oliver ran up to the screen, his eyes and smile wide.
"Oli, be careful," Henry called, and you gave everyone hugs while also exploring every part of your backyard, which looked amazing. There were even lights in the pool! Evan, Marcel, and Brock waved at you, splashing around.
"Wanna go for a swim, (Y/N)?" Jon asked, stringing up the last of the lights, and you nodded. "Go on, get your swimsuit on!"
"I brought yours over, too, Oli," Henry said, holding Oliver's Star Wars swim trunks out to him.
"Thanks, Dad." Oli smiled and grabbed his trunks with one hand and yours with his other, dragging you inside. "C'mon, (nickname), I wanna have a water war with you!"

For hours, the two of you played in the water, brawling with the adults with Lottie on your side. After everyone got out and got changed, you all gathered around the makeshift screen, plopping down on the beanbags and chairs set up. You, Oli, and Lottie sat on the white chair closest to the screen, your legs draped over Oliver's lap.
"What movie should we watch?" Kitty proposed, and everyone shot ideas her way. "How about The Princess Bride?"
Everyone agreed, and the movie began to play as Kitty handed everyone a slice of pizza and a can of soda. Nobody talked as the movie played, and that was fine; the silence was perfect.
