Now that he actually did look like just a shadowy Link, I could totally see it. He was nearly the complete opposite of the actual Link. Before anyone could see him, he snapped his fingers and transformed back to normal almost instantly. "I am Link's shadow, his opposite," Dark Link brought his knees close to his chest, hugging them like he was a lost child, "I'm from the Twili Realm, but Ganon brought me to Hyrule in attempt to destroy Link."
He slammed his palms in the dirt, so he was on his hands and knees, staring me directly in the eye. "But please don't call me Dark Link!" He begged, looking at me with sad, puppy dog eyes, "I hate being called that and Link never called me that either! I'm really not all that bad!" He thought about his last statement for a moment, tapping his chin and staring at the ground in puzzlement, "well, maybe I was bad once."
"But I'm good now!" Dark Link threw his hands up, smiling happily, "Link helped me realize that just because my name was Dark Link didn't mean I had to be dark and evil."
I watched him closely, still wondering if he could be trusted. "I guess I understand," I mumbled, sitting a little farther away from him.
He noticed my movents and became utterly distraught. "You don't trust me!?" He wailed, throwing his hands up and falling to his knees, "Oh, how I am misunderstood throughout all the realms! No one shall truly know me!" He grasped his head in dispair, burying his face in the grass, "Woe is me who is forever seen only as a lowly shadow!"
"I'm sorry!" I yelled jumping to my feet as he groveled at my feet, "I'll do anything, just stop crying!"
I looked around noticing a few bystanders looking at us in confusion. I glared in disgust as a few girly teens began whispering to one other.
"Maybe she broke up with him?" the first girl whispered.
"Must be," said the other, "but I never knew a guy could get so upset..."
"Okay that's enough wailing," I sighed, bending down and pulling Dark Link to his feet, trying to wipe away his pitiful tears, "you're destroying your reputation."
"I lost that when Link defeated me," Dark Link, sobbed, trying to pull away from me, "He was my only friend and now he gone!"
He began wailing again, yelling things I could hardly understand. "Oh dear," I mumbled, "how did Link ever pull this guy together."
"It's okay," I crooned, patting his head, "we'll find Link, don't you worry. I miss him too."
Nothing was working. Dark Link bit his bottom lip, trying to silence the sobs as he wrapped his arms around himself. "I have no life," He choked, "Woe is me..."
"Enough with the woeing!" I growled, unable to think of anything else to get him to shut up.
Thus, the only thing left to do was hug the poor creature, and hug him I did. Maybe a bit to hard, because he stopped breathing. At least he had stopped crying. "Now!" I pulled away from him and began dragging him farther into the park, ignoring the silly giggles that eventually faded away behind us, "Let's figure out what happened to Link!"
