At first, there was nothing and I looked around at the darkness surrounding me. "Uh..., where-?" I started to say but was cut off.
"Relax," Dark Link pixelated into existence in front of me, "we're inside my head."
I blinked and watched as a a world slowly imerged from the darkness. Everything seemed to be made up of either colors of swirling darkness... or pixels. It was the only way to decribe the black and blue 2d glitching cubes that floated around everywhere.
When the mist and pixels and finished forming this new world around us, we were standing on a lake. There was an island with a dead tree, but we weren't standing on it. We were standing on the water. "This is sooo weird," I shivered, poking at the water/ground with to toe of my shoe, "what's going on and why are we here?"
"This room is manipulated to look like a Realm created long ago for one-on-one combat," Dark Link explained and getured over to the dead tree island before walking towards it, "This is were I first met Link, my Hyliean half."
I followed him and looked closer at the tree to see a second Dark Link standing in the shadow of it. "My past self," the actual Dark Link poked at the second Dark Link, his hand going straight through him, "completely harmless and unaware of us."
"Uh-huh," I mumbled, watching the past Dark Link carefully.
He looked just like Dark Link had when he showed me his true form. Red eyes, misty hair formed from black darkness, strange tan and grey skin. The glowing, green tatoos weren't visible since he wore gloves, armguards, collared shirt, and basically everything else Link always wore. except instead of being green, this outfit was black.
I was about to ask why nothing was happening when I heard a door open. I turned and nearly collapsed when I saw who it was imerging from the doorway behind us.
"Link!" I gasped running towards him, but I realized it was pointless and stopped halfway across the lake.
Even though it was really Link, he was just a memory. I bit my bottom lip as he walked right through me, leaving behind a cold, dead air that made my skin crawl. I watched as bars dropped over the doorway that Link had come through.
"What!?" Link turned, shocked, and then looked at the tree.
Dark Link imerged from the shadows, chuckling as he unsheathed a sliver and black version if the master sword. "Time to die!" He lunged, barely giving Link enough time to react.
Link cried out in shock, and dove away, but the sword was faster and sliced at his arm. Link stumbled away, clutching the bleeding wound a moment before unsheathing his own weapon. I wanted to jump in a help but the actual Dark Link put a hand on my shoulder and pulled me back.
"Just watch," he whispered," there's nothing else you can do."
