~ELYSSA HAMILTON~
Elyssa and Lewis had departed from the old school and found themselves walking together by the countryside. They have been walking for hours since they left the school. They could walk forever and never get tired after all they are not a mortal being. They were heading to their next stop. So where was that exactly? The thing is. Neither of them had a clue. It was slowly getting dark and the sun was setting. The natural first survival instinct was to look for shelter to rest for the night. But these twos were... Well, Elyssa was a ghost and Lewis was a magical being who obviously did not belong to this world.
"When do you plan to make your move?" Lewis asked all of a sudden, breaking the silence they were sharing.
"My move?" Elyssa asked, raising one of her eyebrow in query.
"Yes, just like a chess game. Each move you make affects your victory greatly. The sins are your opponents and they have their own style of playing. Whoever makes the first move will start the game and it is up to you to win the game," Lewis replied. "Only you can make your move first as they have no idea you someone like you exists. Someone who might just be capable of stopping them"
"Wow. Who knew you would be a game fanatic," Elyssa commented. "Not that it's bad, but it makes things interesting..." The wind breezing through her hair and the evening sunlight touching her softly. It made her feel light on her feet. It made her feel free like she broke out of the chains of reality. She wanted more of this feeling. It was different.
Back in her old home, it was dark and silent. The noise you may hear are only footsteps, phones ringing, paper flying and occasional chatters. It was not like that at first, but as her parents became more and more capable of what they were doing, it became the road Elyssa was walking.
Elyssa wondered how her parents would do after her death. She could tell that they were depressed by how they were at her funeral, but she was worried about their well-being. They hardly ever had time for their daughter and the only times they see each other are formal gatherings like the anniversary party. Most of their talks were through messages and emails. This was what happened behind the perfect family mask they put up in public, the sad truth to Elyssa.
Elyssa watched with an unwavering gaze, as the fiery red orb of light slowly sank beneath the horizon. The defiant sky adorned itself with brilliant reds and oranges, clothed itself in garish splendor. She had once seen something as beautiful as that. It made her remember a small piece of her memory.
"The young mistress is staring out the window again." One of the servants muttered, standing outside the young child's room. The little girl with brown hair gazed out the window. She did not move from that spot for a long while. Her mouth curled into a frown, her eyes were monotonous. The sky was in the same different shades of orange and gave a peaceful feeling to the little house.
"The poor girl, she is only eleven. Her parents are too controlling of her life." Another servant commented.
"But then again, don't you find her strange? To have such a talent at a young age. I heard she has been like this since she was six! It is no wonder her parents wishes to control everything she does."
"All the competitors who lost her gave up on what they were doing and dubbed her 'The Monster', saying that she is too talented for her own good."
"It's true! I have seen her practice her piano piece before and the pieces she plays are too complicated for even professional adults to play! It was beautiful but really scary."
