Man was never told to slow down and enjoy the moment
Never told of what the future would hold
For this we pay the price
Because the future is not so niceAs a husband kissed his wife goodbye
He never knew the crusades were a lie
He risked his life for God, just to die
Never to look in his unborn child's eyesA woman said goodbye to her daughter
Only for her be part of a slaughter
She never knew that in the future
She would be burned by Salem's fireA man kissed his child's forehead
Never knowing what was ahead
That he'd be lying in a field dead
Killed by a wars ruthless dreadA girl grasped her sisters hand
Never knowing or being able to understand
That this contact sealed her fate
Because the Black Death does not discriminateA boy joined the army without fear
Unaware that his fate was then clear
He would not live much longer
As above Pearl Harbor appeared the first bomberAs a teacher smiled with great honor
She never knew that she would die in such a manner
As the challenger exploded millions cried
Never to forget the teacher who was just along for the rideAs shown throughout history
Actions in the future are still but a mystery
But through all time we must remember
That the future is not to blame for our choices and human nature
