Ch.25 Moving On

Tate

After a while of waiting I heard Scott upstairs. He's mom had fallen asleep so I crept upstairs.. Liam was there as well. They were talking about how Hayden was back and supposedly Scott and Stiles were going to get Kira from a place in New Mexico called Shiprock.

It didn't go too well and Scott left without Liam. I waited until Scott left to walk in.

"Liam" I said as I opened the door. He quickly turned around and stood there without saying anything.

"I'm back... I don't know how but-" he cut me off by wrapping his arms around me.

"I don't care why your back.. As long as you're here"

We sat there in the hug not saying anything..

I can't believe that this is happening, I was dead and now I'm back.

With him.

"We're in trouble Tate, the Dread Doctors are still here and so much more is happening... Wait, you were changing to a werewolf when you were the other you.."

He paused.

"Are you still a Phoenix?" I asked.

"Definitely" I said flashing my Phoenix eyes.

The next day in class we were sitting in bio when the teacher mentioned me.

"Tate, is back from he very long vacation... You owe me a lot of work young lady"

"I know.."

"And has anyone seen Jessica?" She asked the class and no one said anything.

"I heard that she moved" Liam spoke up, he was sitting right beside me.

"Oh.. Okay" The teacher said as she crossed Jessica's name off the attendance sheet.

"Anyways, Back to our lesson" She walked in front of her desk.

"Co-dominance, a relationship among alleles where both alleles contribute to the phenotype of a heterozgote...

Quite a mouth full.. I know.

But it's exactly what we'll be learning in today's lab..

Students in the first and third row, look behind you. These are your partners" She said and we turned around.

Hayden was Liams partner..

I'd be lying if I said that it didn't piss me off.

I had a decent looking guy as my partner..

"Hey Tate, I didn't you you were 'back from the dead' " Hayden said using air quotations.

"Well that's because I tend to not be friends with assholes, so I don't need to tell you when I'm back" I gave her a sarcastic smile..

I've been told that I'm very passive aggressive.

"I'm not comfortable with my partner.. Can I have a new one" Liam asked the teacher just as Hayden was going to say something.

"No switches Liam" she said

Then Mrs.Finch continued to speak as we all switched seats so that we were all sitting next to our partners.

"Remember that in Co-dominance, neither allele is recessive. The phenotypes of both alleles are expressed..

Corey, in human blood what is a good example of Co-dominance?" She asked

"Type AB." the kid sitting beside Mason quickly answered.

"Very good. So today you're go to solve a little mystery.

Two couples had babies on the same day, at the same hospital. Were the babies switched?

Open your packets and read the instructions."

The room got silent except for a few groups chatting.

"I'm Parker" The guy next to me said as he smiled.

I rolled my eyes.

"I'm Tate"

"Gees, you don't need to be angry.. I just said my name"

"Sorry.. I'm not is the best mood today"

"I can see that" he said as he continued to read...

I looked up at Liam and noticed that him and Hayden were getting in trouble.
Once the teacher walked away I tapped on his shoulder.

"What was that about?" I whispered.

"I'll explain later" he said and the bell rang.

Everyone began to get her their things, I did as well.

"We'll finish the lab next class" Mrs.Finch said and we all left the room.

Was walking down the hall looking for Liam, but I couldn't find him.

Down one hall, down another hall, around the corner..

I couldn't fine him but I found the library.

I walked in since I had a study hall, I decided I should study up since I haven't been to class in a few months.

I was good in all my classes except math so I walked over to where they had Math text books.
I grabbed one that looked like it was related to what we did in class today and went to the second level of the library where I studied with Stiles all the time.

I 'tried' to study but couldn't, and I felt like I needed to look up so I did and quickly regretted it when... I saw Liam kissing Hayden.

I felt like my heart was ripped out and fed to a bunch of dogs..

I knew we wouldn't get back together if what Scott's mom said about them getting extremely close.

I felt my phone vibrate so I looked at it.
It was Scott.

Scott: Hey Jess, Stiles and I are back with Kira... Can you come to my house.

I didn't tell him that I was back.

Tate: Sure.. Schools over in like ten minutes, I'll leave early.

I grabbed my bag and the textbook.

I quickly walked down the stairs and to the bookshelf right next to them which was where I gotten the book.

I put the book back and looked at them.

"You should have told me that you two were still together Liam. Because I would have moved on" I gave them a smile and walked out of the school.

About a half hour later I made it to Scott's house.

I slowly crept in seeing Scott asleep on the couch and Kira in a chair next to him.

I smile and waved trying not to make any sound, she starred at me wide eyed and began to shake Scott.

"Scott.. Scott wake up" she said.

He slowly opened his eyes and then jolted up when he saw me.

"Tate"

"I missed so much and I... Oh, and I've been back since you left. But your mom helped me be a secret from you until you guys got back.." he jumped up and hugged me.

"You're choking me buddy" I said as he loosened the hug.

"How are you back... Did Theo bring you back with the rest?"

"I don't know.. I woke up outside of the old Hale house. Malia, Stiles, Sheriff, Theo, and Lydia don't know that I'm back yet.. And I know.... Lydia missing." I said looking from Kira back to Scott.

"Your freaking back"

"I've heard that a lot lately" I laughed as he engulfed me in another hug.
