Ch.9 Track

Tate

It's been two days since the hole change to a Phoenix thing at Derek's.. Today was try outs for track team at the school so I put on black sports shorts, and a black wet seal V-neck, along with my pink and black runners.. I checked in Stiles room to find him still asleep and the Sheriff was still asleep so I decided to sprint to school because I had enough time and I wanted to get warmed up.. When I got there most of the Lacrosse team was there except Stiles, but I saw Liam and Scott so I walked over to them "Hey you ran here" Lian put his arm around my waist.. We weren't official yet but we were.. I don't know it's kinda confusing, but we'll figure it out later.. "Yeah I did, um Scott is Stiles on his way yet.. Cause he was asleep when I left" I smiled
"Yeah he should be here.. There he is" And we turned to see He running over putting his car keys in his backpack and placing it by ours "You didn't wake me"
"Because I saw going for a run, and your alarm went off when I left by the way" he was gonna say something but then Coach began to Talk about how the Lacrosse team didn't HAVE to be here, and that he hid 12 whistles in the woods and we all had to find them and blow them when we found them.. And then we all ran, before we started I put my headphones in and played 'Just One Yesterday' By Fall Out Boy.. As you can tell I like their music. I ran and caught up with the guys and they gave me a look "What?"
"How.. How did.. You catch up" Stiles said inbetween breaths
"I don't know" I put my headphones away because the kept falling, and we all split ways.. After a few people already found whistles I saw one, so I ran a bit faster and saw two other guys coming for it.. I don't know how but I felt like when me and Liam were running to the loft and I grabbed the whistle and blew.. Even tho I could stop running I felt like I needed the run some more so I put it around my neck and went to find the guys.. I saw another whistle and I saw another guy running for it but I wasn't paying attention and I thought that I ran into a tree "Shit" I got up and grabbed the whistle and noticed that a ran into Stiles
"Sorry!!! I didn't see you, here I already have one" I helped him up and handed him the whistle
"Thanks, the guys are heading back we should go..
When we got back The rest of the team was coming out of the woods as well so Coach began to talk again, well yell.. Coach never talks like a normal person.
"OK since all of you hormonal idiots got back around the same time, I want all of you here Monday's and Wednesday's at 8:30 to start with sprints.. You Just wear your Lacrosse jerseys and what ever sport shorts you have until uniforms come.. Sampson catch" He threw me a jersey with my last name on the back with a number four on the front and back since I wasn't on the Lacrosse team.. I had been thinking about joining tho..
And then we all walked back to the locker rooms to change. Since I came in my track outfit I got a School outfit from my locker which was a rose red crop top, black and white plaid skinny jeans, and black ankle boots, rolled on deodorant then went to class..
The first to classes were OK, I wasn't really a fan of History and Math so I just kinda sat there by myself.. As I was walking to lunch I was stopped by Mason by my locker
"Hey Tate, how's it been.. I haven't really heard from you since the club"
"Oh sorry, I've just been going through a bunch lately" I gave him a smile as I shut my locker and we walked through the crowded hall
"Yeah I've heard, Liam told me about the hole thing that happened at the loft"
"Well let's not talk about me.. What have you've been up to"
"Not much, you know the usual watching try outs and the practices.." He smiled, I knew what he meant so I laughed a bit and we split up when we got to lunch when Lydia waved at me to sit with them at lunch "Hey did you find out anything about what Parrish is yet" I ask sitting next to her as everyone else is in a deep conversation about who knows what..
"We he didn't feel anything when I held a lighter under his hand for a while, and me said that he has been having these dreams about this tree stump in the preserve that we've had problems with before.. It's like a beacon for supernatural creatures..So I've heard we have an addition to our list for our group... Kitsune, werewolfs, banshee, werecoyote and now a Phoenix" She rested her head on hand, how many people know.. Well the group is big and plus Brett so..
"Yeah, I'm still learning tho.."
"Don't worry I'm still learning to" Kira said from the other side of the table..
"Guys I was gonna tell you last night but I wanted to tell you in person.. Someone is taking the dead bodies" Scott said and everyone got quiet
"What do you mean"
"Someone took Tracie's body from Deaton's, and someone took Lucas body from the hospital last night.."
We all kinda Just looked at each other...

School was just getting over and when Stiles and I were on the way to his house I felt like something was bothering him and it was getting annoying, he was on edge
"What's wrong"
"Nothing.. I'm, I'm just thinking"
He lied but I decided to blow it off.. A few minutes later I got a text from 'WolfBoy' and I laughed remembering what Liam said about that name
"Liam said that he was gonna get payback for you calling him WolfBoy" He just laughed a bit as we got out of the car..
"I'm gonna go to the station to see your Dad, OK?" He nodded and went inside.. I checked my phone since Liam texted

"Hey wanna come over in a bit" -WolfBoy

"Sure, I'm just go see Sheriff for a bit.." -Me

"OK Cya soon" -WolfBoy

When I got to the station I said Hi the lady at the front desk and asked if the Sheriff was there so I walked to his office "Tate" He stood up and walked over to hug me
"Hey Sheriff!! I missed you"
We sat and caught up for awhile until Parrish can in "Hey Sheriff I'm gonna be leaving soon- Hey Tate" We hugged and then I left to go see Liam...

When I got there is was a bit late but Liam wanted to talk, I walked upstairs after greeting his parents
"Hey Liam, you wanted to talk"
"Yeah about what happened the morning you after the full moon"
He said closing a textbook
"Yeah I kinda wanted to talk about that to.." I walked over and stay next to him, I'm pretty sure we both knew what was happening
"If we both like each other, do you Just wanna start dating.. I mean yeah, it's been a week but.." I cut him off and kissed him "How's that for an answer.."
I couldn't believe I just freaking did that!?! I'm never that kinda of person, I just.. Oh my god.. We just sat there and smiled at each other for a bit until my phone began to ring "Hello?"
"Tate, where are you" Its was Stiles and I thought that I heard Malia with him
"I'm at Liam's, why? Wait don't answer that, I'm so sorry I'll be at the house in a few minutes" I hung up and grabbed my phone
"I gotta go, I forgot that Stiles has me on this curfew until we find out more about what I am.. I'll see you tomorrow" He nodded and hugged me.. As I was walking up the road I looked up and saw my house, and they were home. I got so angry then I felt the burning and I heard Liam yell my name.. I felt dizzy and it was like everything was in slow motion.. I felt my eyes change, and my nail change to claws.. It was like my legs couldn't hold me anymore and I fell Just as Liam caught up to me, but I pushed him away as burst into flames..
"I don't want you to get burnt..I feel dizzy again, Liam I'm gonna" Before I knew it I was on the ground again..
