Chapter 27 – Is he ok?

Two months had passed since Harry and I got together. The world found out pretty quickly that we were together, mainly because Harry couldn’t keep his big mouth shut. I must admit, I did want the world to find out, but I was shitting myself about their reaction. Turns out, most of them were happy for us. We got the occasional hate but most was pretty good.

I became quite close with Eleanor over the course of the four months. However, her living in Manchester and I living in London, it was quite hard to see her. But we saw each other at least once a month.

Sammie moved from London to take a GAP year in Australia. It sucked having to say good-bye to her. She wanted to explore other parts of the world, and instead of going to America, where I will be working a lot, she decided to go to the furthest possible place she could. That’s Sammie for ya!

As for me, I started working alongside my Dad at SYCO, also managing to score a job in America for the summer. So that is where I am off to. My parents and I are at the airport ready to say good-bye for 4 months. The boys are on tour right now but will be in America in a month which will be great.

“I’m gonna miss you sweetie!” My mum hugged me tight, as if I was never coming back.

“Mum, it’s only 4 months, I’ll be back before you know it.” I tried to sooth her crying. I knew she would be like this. It kind of makes sense. I have never been anywhere on my own before. She got teary when I went on school camps, so no surprises on the water works front.

“Love, she’ll be fine. But Cas needs to go.” Dad turned to look at me, he smiled at pulled me in to a hug. “I am so proud of you Cas. I always told you, you could go very far in this industry. Let me know how everything works out in America. Don’t sign anything without talking to Simon and myself first.”

“Dad, what could they possibly want me to sign?”

“I’m not sure, but if they do, talk to us first. Ok?”

“Yeah sure Dad.” I was slightly confused, but then it kind of hit me that maybe Dad thought that I was going to be asked for a recording deal or a work contract in L.A.

“Simon called me earlier and said that he is in New York but is flying back to L.A. in about 2 hours and will meet you at the airport and take you to where you are staying. I think you are staying at his house but I’m not entirely sure, so can you please call me when you find out where you are staying?”

“Sure Dad. I will.” I smiled at my Dad before they announced my flight was boarding. We said our final good-byes before I walked over to the boarding gate and walked through the tunnel.

This was it. This is my big chance. My chance to change the face of music forever. And having Simon with me for the first 2 months, will help me gain respect very quickly. Bring it on!

“Cassidy! So nice to see you again. I’m so glad you decided to come.” I was greeted by Simon’s warm smile and a hug.

“Thanks Si, I’m so glad I’m here. It’s so much warmer here than London!”

“Yes the weather is great here in California. Marcus, take Cassidy’s luggage and put it in the trunk. Cas, hop in.” We entered the back seat of the limo. I sat on the far side whilst Simon sat on the other.

“Simon, where am I staying exactly? I promised Dad I would call and let him know.”

“Oh yes, well I thought you could stay at my house for a while, just until you settle in. And then you can decide later if you want to live in your own place, a hotel, or stay with me. You may even meet some celebrities that you bond quite well with and they might ask you to live with them. I here a few have already started asking.”
