Love is the only force capable of transforming an enemy to a friend"

-------------------------------"Mark you must take your respective seat" Mr. Henry Adams our Finance professor ordered him in a hesitant voice. It was clearly marked over his facial features that he was also intimidated by him.
Mark gave him a cold look implying he didn't cared about his orders. Without saying anything he went to the last seat where I guess his best friend Chase was seated.
"Who in the hell does this jerk think he is, showing an attitude like that to a professor." I muttered to myself. But then I realized he was Mark Winston, reincarnation of devil itself.
"Today we'll start with Management of Financial Institutions and Markets. So everyone please be attentive." Mr. Adams said.
When the class ended, I checked my timetable and saw that my next class was Economics. Clara's, however, was Politics.
"I wish we had more classes together," I said, feeling a pang of disappointment. Clara was my first real friend here, and I wasn't looking forward to navigating the rest of the day without her.
"Don't worry, we'll catch up at lunch. Plus, we have that business webinar together," she reminded me with a reassuring smile. We exchanged numbers before parting ways.
"Alright, see your pretty face at lunch then. Bye!" I teased with a grin.
"You wish!" she shot back with a laugh, disappearing into the crowd.
Clara was unlike anyone I'd met in this college. For someone who came from wealth, she was refreshingly grounded and genuine. Usually, I took time to warm up to people, but something about Clara just clicked. She had this warmth that was impossible not to like.
Once again, I was struggling to find my next class in the vast maze of my college. I kept studying the map, hoping the location would pop up if I stared long enough. Clara had given me directions, but the campus was just too big to find an easy route.
“Lost, little nerd? Need a hot guy to show you around?” a guy’s voice interrupted my thoughts. I turned, startled, to see a blonde guy standing with a group of muscular guys, all smirking at me like they were sizing up their next victim.
Great, just what I needed—more entitled jerks. I tried to remain calm, even though their predatory stares made my skin crawl. They looked like the typical campus jocks, overly confident and used to getting their way.
“No thanks. This nerd can find her own way. But where’s that hot guy you mentioned? I don’t see him anywhere,” I shot back with a sarcastic smile, glancing around as if I were looking for someone.
I assumed my remark would make them angry, but to my surprise the group burst into laughter. The blonde guy also looked amused.
“The name’s Frederick,” he said, flashing a cocky grin. “And by the way, you’ve got a nice f... f... ass. Sorry, I stuttered there.”
"Its okay fre.......................dick. Oh my god I'm so sorry. I stuttered too. I mean to say Frederick" I said sarcastically and went away.
By this time all his friends were laughing so hard that they were out of breath.Frederick blinked, clearly surprised by my retort, but instead of being offended, he laughed along. “I’ll see you around, nerd,” he called after me as I walked away.
I didn’t respond, just kept walking with a silent smile. Maybe he wasn’t as bad as I’d first thought—just a bit cocky.
After what felt like an eternity of wandering, I finally found my Economics class. The door was already open, and the professor, Mr. Hopkins, was standing at the front of the room. I hesitated for a moment before stepping in, fully aware that I was a little late.
“May I come in?” I asked, trying to sound as polite as possible.
Mr. Hopkins gave me a disapproving look, the kind that clearly said, "You're late." He didn’t say anything, though, and just nodded toward an empty seat. I quickly made my way to the back, sliding into the seat next to a brunette guy. He was very handsome. He had bluish-grey eyes and the kind of build that suggested he spent a lot of time playing sports.
“Hey, I’m Liam Parker,” he introduced himself.
“Andy Davis,” I replied politely.
“You’re new here, aren’t you? I don’t think I’ve seen you around before,” he said, his tone casual and welcoming.
“Yeah, I just transferred from Canada,” I told him, relaxing a little. I couldn’t help feeling relieved that not all students here were like Mark Winston and his minions.
"Alright, everyone, quiet down so we can get started," Mr. Hopkins called out, cutting our conversation short. I turned my attention to the lecture.
When the class ended, I glanced at my schedule. Only one more class to go before lunch. I can’t wait.
“What’s your next class?” Liam asked as we packed up.
“Business Law,” I replied, already looking forward to finally sitting down to lunch with Clara.
“Ah, mine’s Ethics. Well, it was nice meeting you, Andy. See you around,” he said with a smile.
“Nice meeting you too, Liam,” I said, feeling a little lighter. Maybe this place wasn’t so bad after all.
