Chris looked good. Like, really fucking good.

I hadn't seen him since Harry embarrassed him at the bar but now that I was looking up at him from the ground, I found myself checking him out. But I tried not to be obvious about it. That's just embarrassing. His hair had grown out a bit and he looked a lot more built. Maybe he was hitting up the gym a lot more, but it wasn't grossly bulky. It was nice.

"Are you alright?" he asked, staring down at me and waving a hand in front of my face. I realized I wasn't responding and he probably thought I had a concussion so I slowly nodded my head. Chris smiled softly before extending his hand out to help me up. I slowly took it and he pulled me up off the ground. Chris pursed his lips and smiled. "Are you sure you're alright? You look really out of it."

I nodded my head quickly. "I uh...I'm just tired, sorry," I said finally.

Chris nodded his head and looked down at the ground before looking back up at me. "How've...uh...how've you been?"

"Good," I responded. "You?"

"Good," he replied, nodding his head manically.

"Oh. That's good."

"Yeah," he said slowly.

We stood there quiet for a few moments more until I cleared my throat. "I should probably get going. I want to get home and yeah..."

"Yeah, sure," Chris said, nodding and backing away from me. "It was really nice seeing you."

"Nice seeing you too," I said to him with a small smile before turning around.

"Riley!"

I stopped and turned around to look at Chris. "Yeah?"

"Want to grab a bite to eat tomorrow?" he asked.

I pursed my lips because in the back of my head, I knew he was going to say something like this. Or maybe a small part of me was hoping he would. I nodded my head. "Yeah, sure. Text me?"

"I will," he replied, smiling and giving me one last wave.

Let's go for lunch tomorrow? x

I had found the message the next day when I woke up from sleep. I had knocked out completely when I got home and slept through the night and into today. Not that I was complaining because I felt really refreshed. I checked the clock to see I had plenty of time to do some laundry, shower and then get dressed for lunch.

Sure. Where? xx

Chris and I settled on a place to meet by the time I'd done about two cycles of laundry and showered. It was a back and forth between this new café and our old favorite. We settled on the new café. I got dressed up and grabbed my bag and keys before walking out of my flat. I took the tube down to the address and found Chris waiting outside.

"Hi," I said, smiling as I walked over.

"Hey," he grinned. "How are you?"

"Great," I said.

"You look well. Slept in, I'm assuming?" he asked. I nodded my head and laughed.

"You didn't have to wait out here in the cold."

"Didn't have much of a choice," he told me. "It's packed inside. I think we'll have to wait a few to get a table. You sure you don't want to go to the old place?"

I nodded my head. "I think it's time for a new start, don't you?"

"Yeah," he nodded, his cheeks slightly turning red.
