The Road to Somewhere

Well it's that time again Jim!!

* Samantha's POV*

" Yes mom I'm fine! Of course I'm brushing my teeth! Ok. Love you too. Bye."

My mom had called asking me all sorts of questions on how my first week was.

She had thrown multiple questions in my face. Silly questions.

But I know it's just motherly concern.

Listening to the sound of her voice made me miss her even more then I already did.

I told her the truth, I was fine and I was happy. But I'd be happier if my parents were both here.

I haven't really been thinking about my parents as much as I should because all I can think about is Aaron.

Last night was going really great. Even though it was a date, it still felt like we were hanging out as friends.

I barely knew him and playing 10 questions isn't going to tell me his life story.

I was thinking what might have happened if I didn't stop Aaron from kissing me. Would it be more awkward then it is going to be since I pulled away?

Well one thing is for sure I am not going to let an almost kiss get in the way of our friendship.

I came out of my thoughts to look at my alarm clock, It read 9:00am.

Today is the day that Mr. and Mrs. Philips are going to tell us an announcement.

Hopefully it will be exciting!

I slowly hop out of bed, learning my lesson about going to fast.

I walk over to the door, opening it, and walking down the stairs.

This family often sleeps till 10:00am so I had around an hour to myself.

I make my way into the kitchen and got out eggs, milk, salt, pepper, and butter to begin making scrambled eggs.

As I was mixing all the ingredients together I heard my phone ring upstairs. I quickly leave what I am doing and I run up the staircase.

I sprint into my room, grab my phone and plop down on my bed hitting the answer button.

" Hey Guuurl"

Just from that greeting I know its Jack.

" Hey Jackie what's up?" ( He hates it when I call him Jackie!)

" Nothing." He grumbled.

"So why did you call?"

" I was just wondering if the squad wanted to get together." He suggests.

" I'd love that! I haven't seen either of you since the last day of school."

" Yeah, that's why I thought it would be fun to catch up."

" Okay what time?" I asked with enthusiasm.

" How about 4:30?"

" Great for me!" I chirped.

" Have you called Sloane yet to ask her?"

" No she has been having a hard time with Greg and therefore is not answering her phone to too many people."

" That jerk Greg didn't deserve her!" I mumble just loud enough for him to faintly hear.

" Do you want me to call her?" I ask.

" Sure that would be great then she might pick up." He chuckles.

" Okay. I'll text you with the answer in a bit!"
