Chapter 30: Chrissy: Almost Over

  The plan was set. Taurtis and Grian knew their lines, Chan was going to operate the speakers, everything was under control. Maybe.

"Okay, are we ready?" I asked the others.

"Yes," Chan said.

"Maybe," Taurtis said.

"No," Grian said.

"Here's the plan," I started. "Chan will start the music when I give the signal. I'll get Insanity's attention, I'll say/sing my line, Taurtis will pop outta the bushes and and say/sing his line, and then Grian will do his. Then we'll run to where the next speaker is and do our thing. Repeat. Well go from there. Got it?"

They nodded.

"Then let's go."

"Wait," Taurtis said. He gave Chan a hug.

"Oh yeah," Grian said. "I forgot they were dating."

"Me too," I said.

Taurtis and Chan broke apart.

"You okay?" I asked him.

"I'm fine," he said sadly.

"Let's go." I took his hand and we left, Grian behind us.

I saw Insanity at Taurtis and Sam's old house. I told Grian and Taurtis to hide in the bushes near the first speaker. I gave them their wireless microphones that they could clip into their shirts. I put mine on. Then I walked to the house.

"Hey Insanity!" I called. "Over here!"

He turned. I got scared. He had dark red eyes and pupils that were slits. The pink part of his ears had gone completely black. He radiated anger, evil, and darkness.

"You," he said. "Chrissy."

"Yep. That's me. Come and get me!"

I ran over to where the speaker, and Grian and Taurtis, were. I pulled out my phone quickly and sent Chan the message:

The music started to play. I stood my ground and sang.

"I really hate you. Stop getting in the way."

Taurtis jumped out of the bushes. "I've lost my patience. When are you gonna decay?"

Grian was next. "I want to throw you out, just like my broken T.V."

Back to me. "If you'll come back once more, it shall be painful. You'll see."

Insanity was only feet away from us now.

"Run!" I yelled. We turned and ran, all the way to the next speaker. We got there just in time.

"It's almost over, why can't you just let it fly?" I sang. Grian went next.

"Don't be afraid. It's not the first time you'll die."

Taurtis sang, "I'm sure you're super mad, but we don't really know."

Insanity somehow knew the song too. He sang the next line. "Once I get my second chance, I won't leave you alone."

"I hope you die in a fire," I sang as we ran. Then me, Taurtis, and Grian sang together.

"Hope you'll be stabbed in the heart! Hope you get shot and expire! Hope you'll be taken apart. Hope this is what you desire!"

"I hope you die in a fire!"
