Ben opened the door before we even knocked. "You're late."
"Sorry, we were-"
"Doing your hair?" He laughed at Denis. I smirked. "Yeah, thought so. Come on in." Ben hugged each of us. Even though it felt normal to be around Denis, I still got a little star-struck around everyone else. The whole gang was over, and each one of them hugged me like they'd known me for years. I say gang, because there were so many of them, and they all could look quite intimidating at times. Everyone had dressed nicely, and I just fit in - minus my lack of underwear and rip in the bottom hem of my skirt.
"What the fuck mate? I said half an hour ago." James said heartily as we all sat down in the living room, cool air from the screen door flowing through the room comfortably.
"Lost track of time." Denis looked at me.
"Not my fault. No one told me this was happening." And you're the one that pulled me inside all eager to fuck me, so.
"I love your outfit." Haley smiled as the guys continued on another topic than our tardiness.
"Thanks. It helps that I have a stylist staying with me. I love you dress." It was black with 3/4 length sleeves and a peplum waist.
"Thanks. You have a stylist?"
"Just for interviews and stuff. Also my choreographer and trainer."
"Cool."
"So what's new? I feel like it's been so long since we all got together." Girl Sam sighed cheerfully. I felt like we were on The Real Housewives. Ha. The Real Housewives of Asking Alexandria. I think I would die.
"How's training? Kicking your ass?" Brandi giggled.
"Always." I sighed. "It's the first day in like two weeks that I haven't either been at the gym for fifteen hours, or in a news studio doing an interview and fake smiling. It's kind of insane right now."
"Oh, I'm so jealous of you. I workout one day and I'm donzo. You're body is so goals." I felt my face get how.
"I- Thanks." I didn't know how to accept compliments in any manner.
"Hey, do you think you could teach me some stuff? Like exercises or stretches or something?" Sam asked.
"Only if you teach me all that yoga you do. But totally after the Olympics." I nodded and smiled.
"Deal. Okay, let's go eat, I'm starving." Everyone migrated into the dinning room and sat around the table. I was between James on my left, and Denis on my right. Haley sat across from me, with Cameron, and Sam and Britt beside her. Ben and girl Sam sat at either end of the table. Spread across it was a multitude of plates piled high with things like roast chicken, potatoes, and steamed vegetables. At every place setting was a glass of red wine, and about twelve different kinds of cutlery.
"What's the occasion? This is so nice. I asked curiously as everyone served themselves.
"Just sort of a cheers to family, horray on the new album even thought its not done, thing." Ben smiled politely. Family. Did that include me?
"Oh. Nice." Denis did exactly what he always did when Roger wasn't around, and did everything for me. Put all the food on my plate and made sure I had everything I wanted. I was nearly surprised he didn't cut it up and feed it to me, which to be honest, I was so tired I wouldn't have minded. "Thanks." I smiled softly.
"Are you gonna feed her too?" James laughed and suddenly I felt like a child.
"Fuck off." Denis laughed defensively.
