I Can't Keep Pretending

Chapter 12

Tessa

"Tessa I'm about to board the plane so I'll see you soon. I guess you just don't have your phone on? I will call you when we touch down in London! I can't wait to see you! Love you, and see you soon." That was the end of Christian's voicemail for the call the I missed about 30 minutes ago. I am so excited for him to come up this week. It's a little later than we planned, but at least he is coming.

Right now I am on winter break. Christian wasn't able to come up the week after Thanksgiving so he decided to come up the second week up December. This way we will both be able to fly home for Christmas together.

I got that call at 9 a.m. my time, so he won't get in till around 8:30 or 9 tonight. Poor guy, ha! Now he will know how I feel. Since I already planned out what I want to do with him this week I have nothing to do until he gets here.

After studying for awhile I went to go get a snack, and found the cupboards pretty bare. Well now I have something to do. Off to the store I go.

Christian

I am so tired from my flight, but I finally made it. I stood outside Tessa apartment waiting for her to buzz me up. I am so anxious to see her, plus it is really cold outside right now. London temperatures in the winter are brutal.

While I was distracted with my thoughts I didn't even notice the door open and Tess jump into my arms.

"Christian! I am so glad your here! Here let my grab one of your bags." she said as she let go of me and went to grab the smaller bag out of my left hand.

"I am so glad to see you too, and can't wait to spend the week here. But to be honest with you I am actually really tired so could we maybe get me unpacked and then go to bed?" I sound like a buzz kill I know, but I have been on a plane all day, and when you add this time difference in and jet lag you become pretty exhausted.

Tessa smirked while answering,"Yeah sure we can head to bed, but crossing an entire ocean is no easy task ehh?"

"Pshh whatever easy as pie, in fact I could do it again right now, but I'm not crazy so..."

Tessa chuckled saying,"The jury is still out on the whole crazy thing, but lets hit the hay. I have you set up in my guest room, or you can stay with me? I don't really care, and I just got a bunch of food so if you get hungry in the middle of the night or something go find food in the kitchen." She finished while dragging me up to her apartment.

Once we were inside I went straight for what I assumed to be her room, and sure enough when I opened the door I saw that this room was indeed Tess's.

After I finished changing I jumped in her bed. Tess came in a few moments later with me halfway asleep.

"Christian you still awake?" All she got was an inaudible "Hmm".

"Haha okay well rest up because I have a full day planned tomorrow!" she said as she pulled the covers over her and myself. Immediately I pulled her next to me and fell asleep.

3 days later...

Christian and I have had the best time these last couple days here touring around London. He is the first one to come visit me and I finally got to show someone my favorite places to go.

Right now we were walking back to my apartment from going to the London Eye and riding in it. Christians talking broke me of the thoughts about our trip.

"Tess that was amazing! I can't believe our week is half way over! Soon we will be heading on a plane home." He ended with a frown.

"See now you know why I love staying here! All you want to do is walk around all day and see the sights. I wish we could stay longer, but I do really new to get home and see how my mom is." My mom and me talked at least every other day, but it's still not the same as being there. I was tempted to try and transfer to a college back home, but my mom didn't want me to give up my life here for her. I would do it in a heartbeat, but she insisted I stay and finish out the year in London.
