Jungkook returned home from his shift at the mall to an empty apartment, to his relief. While he tried to ignore his mom's lowkey hateful comments towards himself, it was hard to put up that wall of protection everyday. Shutting the door, he shed the horrendous polo shirt he was required to wear and made his way to the kitchen. He poured himself a glass of milk, humming to himself.
It had been a long day to say the least. There had been issues with shoplifters, he had been yelled at for not seeming 'happy' enough (but really, no one that works in retail is happy), a lady had given him a lecture about finding the lord when she had seen the black gauges in his ears... They were small things, but they were enough to set him off.
He downed the rest of his milk and made sure to put a clean shirt on before leaving their apartment. He locked the door once more, and turned around only to be greeted by a man standing across the hall from him. He was tall, and by the looks of it, pretty damn cute. Slim, tanned and colored hair, to say the least, Jungkook liked the view. Pretty boy in front of him spun around and jumped in shock, clutching his chest.
"Oh god- sorry, I didn't see you there, you spooked me," He laughed, his voice deep and his smile brighter than Jungkook's future. "Kim Taehyung, I live in the room across from yours, you must be Mrs. Jeon's son, right? Either that or you broke into her house and put framed pictures of yourself on the wall."
"Ah, yeah, Jeon Jungkook," He responded, holding his hand out to shake to which Taehyung gratefully accepted. "I was out running... errands, sorry I couldn't have been there." He shot Taehyung an awkward smile and laughed a little. He had never been so glad his mom kept the recent pictures of him up, even if she didn't approve of how he looked now.
"Well Jungkook, I'm going out to get myself takeout and then spend the rest of the night at home alone getting wasted in my living room while watching Pokemon re-runs, and you're pretty cute. Would you like to accompany me?"
Jungkook laughed, nervousness easing up at how friendly the other is, and nodded.
"I'd love too."
