(tw; transphobia and minor violence)

When Jungkook bid his goodbye to Taehyung and made his way inside, he assumed the apartment was empty when he noticed his mom wasn't at her usual spot on the couch. She had been out a lot more recently, so Jungkook took no notice of it, waltzing into his room to change into sweatpants and a t-shirt. He made himself comfortable on the couch and pulled out his phone, only to be distracted by a text from Taehyung.

From: Taehyung

8:45 pm

Sleep well Jungkookie! <33 :-D

Jungkook grinned, typing back a quick reply, only to be spooked by his mother slamming the door to the apartment. Locking his phone, he turned his head her way to see her in the doorway with a... man. Mr. tall and mysterious gave a glance his way and frowned, looking unimpressed. Jungkook's mom walked towards their kitchen with a sigh, pulling out a bottle of wine to share. Stranger followed close behind, back hugging his mother. Jungkook coughed, attempting to get their attention.

"So... who's your friend, mom?" Jungkook questioned, fiddling with his hands. His mom opened her mouth to answer, only to be interrupted by the strange guy.

"What's it to you, tranny?" Jungkook gaped as the guy trailed wet kisses up his mom's neck.

"Wow that was uncalled for," He scoffed, standing up from where he was sitting, walking to where the two were behaving like horny teenagers. Jungkook pulled the guy backwards by the back of his dress shirt so he was facing him. "Who the hell do you think you are?"

Stranger pulled himself out of Jungkook's grip and reeled back, punching him straight in the jaw. Jungkook doubled over in pain and held his jaw in his hand, his eyes stinging with the beginnings of tears.

"You shouldn't talk to me that way. I've done more in my life than you ever will, faggot." He sneered, shoving Jungkook onto the ground and kicking him while his mother sat and watched, sipping on her wine. "How does that feel, huh? I bet you're enjoying it, right? You fucking sinner. You deserve to die." Jungkook bit his bottom lip hard, bringing his arms up to guard his face as he took the beating. He knew fighting back would only make it worse.

"Please stop," He whined, tears spilling from his eyes as he coughed, his body aching. "P-please..."

"That's enough, dear." Jungkook's mom whispered, taking the tall man by his arm and leading him away. Jungkook lay on the ground, too sore to move as he sobbed into the cold tiles of the kitchen.

Jungkook's mother came back a few minutes later, staring at the lump of disappointment on the floor. She clicked her tongue and stepped over him, before pausing and opening her mouth.

"I think it's time you find your own place to stay." She said curtly, before grabbing her lighter and leaving the room. Jungkook's brain took a minute to process what was happening. His mom had found someone else and was kicking him out. He rubbed his face with his hand and sniffled, slowly pushing himself off the floor towards his bedroom.

It took Jungkook half an hour to shove everything he needed in a duffel bag before slamming the door and never looking back. He stood in the hallway, contemplating whether or not he should ask the Kim's for help. Deciding he had spent enough time burdening the people in his life, Jungkook left the apartment complex, his body sore and numb.
