Evie
Everyone gets up from their seats and leaves the room; not without singgering in my direction before doing so. I stay in my seat, putting off having to talk to Mr.Summers, he always seems to have some snide comment to make about me and my work. Mainly just because my ideas are so different from everybody elses. My ideas are unique to me, my passions and beliefs.
"Evie-Rose." Mr Summers calls.
I feel my mouth go dry and my palms become sweaty in an attempt to cover up how nervous I'm feeling right now. He begins to walk towards where my seat is situated towards the back of the large classroom. His beady brown eyes, staring me down as he reaches my desk with one hand clutching tightly upon my sketchbook and portfolio.
"Your portfolio really was something else Evie-Rose. I don't know how to feel about it." He mentions bluntly.
I clench my teeth and swallow hard. I look up to him, his eyes making me feel more and more uncomfortable.
"What do you mean by 'something else'?" I reply, in an obviously annoyed and nervous tone.
He sets down the portfolio and sketchbook book in front of me. He pauses for a moment and then opens the sketchbook to my unedited final image. The piece that I had created, harnesses the passion, emotion and fear all into an image.
"It's.." He pauses, "It's something else. Pure, raw, different. I don't know how I feel about it, but it's growing on me slightly." Mr.Summers admits hesitantly, as he leans against my desk.
"I spent countless hours on my portfolio! I haven't slept a full night in months and all you have to say is it's slightly growing on you?" I say frustratedly feeling the heat rush to my face.
"I understand that Evie-Rose, and that is why I am going to offer you a very important shoot." He says sternly, as he adjusts his suit jacket.
"I, um, I don't know what to say." I gushed.
"Well, I was meant to do this shoot but I think it would fit your style of photography better than mine and plus, I don't want to make a bad name for myself." Mr.Summers arrogantly remarked.
I was taken aback by his arrogance but this was a massive opportunity for me. It would really kickstart my career as a photographer and I could get a name for myself in the business. Mr. Summers picks up my sketchbook, portfolio and turns on the spot and heads back towards his desk.
"Wait. When is this important shoot?" I call as I stand up from my desk.
He turns back around to face me, a slight smirk tugs at his lips, making his eyes look more and more devilish.
"Oh it's tomorrow. And it's for the promotion of 5 Seconds Of Summer and their new album Sounds Good Feels Good. Please tell me you've heard it, because I've had to have it on repeat for weeks and I still have no ideas." He bluntly states.
"Tomorrow? I won't have that long to prepare!" Evie gasps feeling her thoughts race around in her head.
"Well that's your problem, not mine." He harshly states.
"Are you kidding me? You first tell me that my portfolio that I spent weeks on, is growing on you and then you tell me that you want me to do this freaking massive photo shoot for the world's biggest band?" I snap in annoyance, his attitude towards me finally getting on my nerves.
"No I'm not kidding. I've sent the details to your student email and the receptionist; Karla is expecting you at 10am." He tells me as he picks up his papers and then leaves the classroom. I groan and fall back into my seat.
