Minutes earlier........

"I am very happy to see you again, Emma. Even if it's as a pirate." Eugene laughed.

"Yeah, I remembered you quite well but correcting Killian is neither here nor there."

"Speaking of, what's going on with you two?" Emma blushed.

"He's my captain, if that's what you mean." She avoided his real meaning of the question.

"I meant, romantically. What's going on there?"

"Nothing," she lied.

"Oh please, I might not've known you for long but hiding feelings isn't your strong suit." He chuckled.

"Fine you caught me, but hey it's just a one sided thing. No big deal." She saddened.

Eugene wanted to tell her about his conversation with Killian earlier but he figured they should come to that on their own. "One sided? So he doesn't feel the same thing you feel for him?" He pushed.

"You could say that," she smiled weakly.

"So what is it exactly that you feel for him?"

"Love." She said quietly without thinking. Both of them were shocked at her words, especially Emma. I love him? I love him! I...love...him? I love him. Emma had 4 different feelings in her heart: shock, excitement, denial and fear.

Eugene stayed quiet until they reached her room, "I hope it's to your liking, Emma." She nodded with a smile but no words she just went in, shut the door and sat the bed thinking her feelings through.

Rapunzel gave Killian the room in front of Emma's. He walked in shutting the door as well.

"She loves him?" Rapunzel asked with a plan in mind.

"Yup, he loves her?" Eugene had the same idea.

"Definitely. It's going to happen."

Eugene and Rapunzel went back to their grand room.

Emma had been sitting in the quiet for what she thought was about an hour or two before a knock on the door made her jump. Before she could ask who it was, the door opened revealing a certain pirate.

"Love, are you alright?" he asked softly.

"Yes, why?" she looked in his eyes as he walked further in to the room, shutting the door.

"You've been in her for the whole day. You missed dinner."

"Oh I didn't realize, I'm sorry." Emma lay back on the bed, her feet still dangling over the end.

Killian joined her, lying next to her. His hand was on hers, unintentionally.

"Thinking about your parents, love?" he asked both staring at the tall ceiling.

"No....well I am now."

"My apologies, but what were you thinking so hard on?"

"About the fact that I was actually open to the idea of an arranged marriage. I didn't mind at all. I was raised to put the kingdom's well being first, so that's how I viewed it. But now, things are different. A marriage is about love, not about business. I thought eventually I would learn to love the man my parents approved of. I mean at my ball, I was supposed to dance with a ton of suitors. I was supposed to decide which one would be my husband. I thought that they were going to try and get to know me but I see now that all the wanted was the crown. Not me. How could I be so blind to the obvious?" she spilled her heart out to the handsome man beside her.

"You had hope. Hope is a powerful thing, but if you have too much it may cloud your judgment, as you realized. What changed your view?" he was awfully hopeful she would say it was him, even after his words.

"Rapunzel and Eugene." Emma lied. It was Hook, Killian he changed her mind on the views of love but she couldn't just tell him that, "they both are happy, in love. Married for love, not for the well being of Corona but for them."

"Oh," he was disappointed. What did you just say? You are such an idiot! He scolded himself mentally. "So when I take you home, you aren't going to marry?"

"Home? When did we agree on taking me home?" Emma sat up, "I am a pirate now, the sea is my home."

Killian sat up too, "Aye, that you are." He smiled.

"Were you going to take me back?" she furrowed her brows. She felt hurt that he was even considering it.

"If you wanted to leave, yes." He focused down on his hook.

"Well I don't want to leave, I want to stay with you...and the crew I have freedom, happiness. At 'home', I'm basically imprisoned my only friend is my little brother."

'With you' those words made Killian's heart race. She wants to stay with you, he thought lying back down. Emma did the same.

"Well you will always have a place on the Jolly Roger," he said. And in my heart, he finished the sentence in his mind. "I wouldn't have it any other way," she smiled. Emma toughened up and intertwined her fingers with his. He squeezed her hand and didn't let go. They laid on the bed in a blissful silence.

An hour had passed and neither of them had said a word or let go of the others hand. "Emma?" he whispered. "Killian?" She answered.

"I'm going to let you sleep, now." Emma stayed quiet. He stood, hands still intertwined, and kissed Emma's forehead. He finally let her hand go and went to the door.

"Thank you, Killian."

"For what, love?"

"Saving me from a loveless marriage." She sighed peacefully.

He smiled, "Anytime, love. Goodnight, Emma."

"Goodnight Killian."

Emma snuggled under the covers and went to sleep with a smile.

Killian lay down over the blankets and smiled until sleep gave way.
