No one stopped them from leaving. They left the castle without interruptions. Once they were out of the gates, Emma could breathe again. She let go and took a deep breath.
It was taking all that she had to not look back. Killian was following her pace on his horse because she was going rather slow for someone who wanted to get the hell out of the Enchanted Forest. Suddenly, Emma stopped her horse.
"What's wrong, love? Second thoughts?" Killian asked, stopping next to her.
"I never said goodbye to my brother." Emma looked down, "He'll hate me if he finds out I left without telling him why. Wait here." She told Killian before she poofed into her brother's room.
"Emma, wh-what are you doing in here? How did you even get in here?" James questioned when Emma appeared out of nowhere.
Emma smiled, "What? No 'Hi, sister, how are you? I've missed you'?" She hugged him tight and pulled back with a frown, "I have to go. Mother and Father don't approve of my...choice of men, so I have to go. I love you, and I will miss you so much. Goodbye."
She took a step back, away from James. He didn't have time to say goodbye. Emma went back to Killian and they headed to the Jolly Roger.
The trip would take some time but Emma and Killian needed time to catch up. They stopped at a bed and breakfast set up near a tavern and got a room.
"Love, how are you doing?"
"I don't know." Emma sat on the edge of the bad and looked down at her hands, "I hated you for so long. I thought you left me. I thought you abandoned me and now...here you are. Rescuing me once again from a loveless marriage."
Killian day next to her, "Seems like it." With his only hand, he took her soft hand. "I kept my promise. Not a day went by that I didn't think of you, Swan."
"When did you promise me that?"
"When I was saying goodbye." Killian looked into Emma's emerald eyes, "I don't want to say goodbye anymore."
"I don't want to say goodbye either." She leaned in and pressed her forehead to his. She ran her hand in his hair, something she missed doing.
Emma closed her eyes and felt him with her once again. A year apart and he was right in front of her. Her mind, her heart and her body were completely as peace. She was breathing without feeling the pain of losing Killian. She no longer had to cry herself to sleep because felt abandoned. She felt relief.
Killian hinted at a smile and kissed her. He took in the way her lips felt. The way her hand moved in his hair when she completely gave in. The past hear was hell for him. He woke up and the first image in his head was Emma. The first thing he felt in the morning was pain. The pain of leaving her...missing her...not being able to kiss her or see her, the pain of not being with her.
They pulled away.
"Thanks for coming back." Emma whispered.
"I should've come back sooner." Killian ran his thumb over her lips. "I missed you, love."
"I missed you more."
"Not possible."
..........
Meanwhile in the castle...
Charming dismisses Neal. He was infuriated. His daughter left. She left with a pirate. His wife slapped his daughter. She physically hurt their child.
"You hit her." Charming shook his head.
"She was being disrespectful. She left with a pirate. Who knows what he is doing to her right now."
Charming widened his eyes, "Stop. Stop. This is not right. Our daughter left us. She thinks the worst of us. How could we have failed so much?"
Snow's face softened, "Do you think she'll come back?"
Charming teared up, "I don't know."
............
After Emma and Killian are, the made way back to the ship.
"My parents wanted me to marry Neal." Emma shook her head in disbelief. "Can you believe that?"
Killian cocked a brow, "What I can't believe is that you never met the man you were to be married to."
"My parents didn't want another ball. They didn't want to risk my being kidnapped again." Emma laughed. "Can I ask you something?"
"Anything, my love."
"Did you...did you ever- "
"I never moved on." He interrupted, "If that was your question."
Emma looked down to her horse sheepishly, "I guess it's not very fair to ask nor to get mad at. But I did think about it a lot. Whether or not you were with another woman. It killed me."
"Well, Swan, to put you at ease," Killian stopped his horse and Emma did the same. "I swear to you that these lips didn't kiss anyone after you. They didn't want to."
Emma smiled and pulled him closer by the lapels of his coat and kissed him.
"I swear the same."
When they arrived at the Jolly, the pirates cheered. They were delighted to have Emma back. They, too, has been saddened when she was taken away. To them, she was family.
"Alright, lads, let's celebrate with some rum!" Killian announced.
He put Emma's things away in their room and Emma joined him with drinks.
"I figured, we could toast down here." Emma smiled, handing him a glass, "Incase I haven't said it in the midst of all this, I love you."
"And I love you."
I'm back. Yes, it's been like a year. I'm sorry but I've had some mental issues as well as family issues and I needed some relief from stress but now I'm back and ready to write. I love you all. I will update as soon as possible. ❤️❤️
