C 21 : The side I never knew he had

I plucked up my courage and I went to the door .

I heard a girl's running footsteps. She was giggling and she seem to be having a lot of fun with somebody.

I went to the window and took a peek.

"11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 17, 18, 19, 100 !!" The boy laughed and then ran after the little girl. The girl looked like she was about 7 and the boy....well, what can I say? He's Ryder !

The girl's eyes lit up with excitement as she tried to escape from her brother.

Ryder laughed and ran after her. They looked so happy playing together.

This was a side that I never knew Ryder would have.

I smiled and felt that I should go back home. I wouldn't want to interrupt them.

As I wanted to turn and leave, the little girl saw me standing at the window.

I didn't know what to do. Should I just run and pretend like this never happened?

"Ryder, who's that standing outside?", the little girl tugged Ryder's shirt and pointed to me.

Ryder quickly ran to the door. He opened the door and found me standing outside like a fool.

My face turned red. "Sorry.. For interrupting your errr playdate .." I grinned sheepishly.

"No, I'm sorry you got caught." He laughed at me.

I heard little footsteps coming towards the door.

The little girl I saw before appeared beside Ryder.

She smiled sweetly at me and turned to Ryder. She pulled at Ryder's shirt and he kneeled down to her height. The little girl cupped her hand at his ear and whispered ," Is this your girlfriend??"

Even from where I was standing, I could still hear every word she said. I looked away, embarassed as she said that.

"No" , he whispered back, though loud louder than necessary. She frowned. He quickly continued, "..not yet.." , he smiled.

She looked at me with admiration. She turned to Ryder and said, "Make it quick, Ok?" Then she ran off.

"She's cute."

Ryder looked pretty embarassed. "Yeaahh... That's my little sister, Aurora."

"That's a pretty name. Aurora... like the princess.." I smiled.

Ryder was blank for a moment ,then he said, "yupp.. like the princess from... err"

"Sleeping beauty.", I finished the sentence for him. I smiled proudly. "I know my Disney princesses."

He chuckled. "Seeing as you are one yourself" 

I blushed.
