C 26 : A night to remember PART 2

We got ready and we were about to leave when...

"Hey, Kherri?", Rane called out to me.

"Yeah?"

"Forgetting something?", Rane eyed me carefully

I look at her in confusion.

She took out my mask from behind her back. I said, "Ooohhh ... That.", I said in realization.

She handed me my mask with a smug expression .

How could I have forgoten about THAT ?? I mentally slapped myself a few times for that. The mask was the most important thing tonight !

Four of us went in Wyatt's car and the other four went in Abbygale's car. Abbygale is Rane's cousin. She's almost 18 and she has a very nice car. Abbygale is going to the dance too.

Wyatt jerked to a halt. We almost fell off our seats...

"Baaahhh !"

"Oouu !"

"Uuufff !"

"We're heeeeerreee !!!", Wyatt announced happily.

"No kidding!", Xavier said , rubbing his head.

Breena still froze from the impact and my hair looked disheveled. I hope no one notices...

We met the others at the school entrance and went in.

Whooaaahh !!! The big school hall looked even bigger! Snowy decorations were hung above our heads and there was even a classy chandelier hung at the celing ! Plastic, no doubt, but it was beautiful nontheless.

I looked around and took it the breathtaking speldor.

The school hall was decorated with all sorts of snow decorations. Well, the theme WAS 'A winter night' . I wonder why.. Christmas was'nt even near yet .. Oh well, you can't blame those teachers and their crazy ideas ..

I waited for Ryder to come find me.

Ryder promised he would find me.

What if he forgot about me???? What if he's dancing with some other girl ?? Maybe he changed his mind about me ... What if he- 

OK.. caaaalm down, Kherri.. Calm down , I told myself .

Suddenly, I felt the presence of someone standing behind me.

"Hello, beautiful.." , said the heart melting voice. I knew that voice at once.

I turned around and said, "Hey.."

"So? What's up??"

"Um.. The ceiling, the sky, the beautiful chandelier and- "

Ryder cut me off, "- and a mistletoe."

"Hah..", I laughed. "Wow.. Where did you shoplift that from?", I said teasingly, pointing at the shrubbery.

He pouted." Well, if that's how you feel..." He pretended to be sad. He looked so cute !!!

Chilllll, Kherrington, CHILL !

"He-heyy.. Come back here!" I pulled his arm and made him face me.

I looked him in the eye and said, "Thank you for the shrubbery." 

He raised his eyebrow and looked at me. "I don't think you have the right idea about this.." he looked at the mistletoe, "this.. shrubbery.."

"You think so, huh?"

Ryder asked me to close my eyes, and I did. 

I felt him come closer to me. I could feel his breath near my face. He put his hand at my cheek. His hand was so soft against my face and I wanted this moment to last forever. He came closer to me. I felt dizzy already ! I inched closer to Ryder. The distance between our lips were less than a centimeter. Finally, our lips met. The kiss was soft and not forced. I slowly put my hand to his face.

The kiss felt like it lasted an eternity. I didn't want to leave his arms. I want us to stay like this forever. I felt like I never want to be apart from Ryder. Call me crazy, but I think I'm in love !!!!
