Quinn's POV:
I was walking across campus at the end of the day, and I was seriously worried about Cara. She told me she had a 'family emergency' but when I asked her what happened she never answered. It was so unlike her to leave me hanging like that, we usually tell each other everything. I was checking my phone to see if I missed a message from Cara, and I wasn't watching where I was going. All of a sudden I bumped into someone.
"Sorry!" I said as I looked up. It was a guy I didn't recognize.
"Don't worry about it," he said, with a cute half smile, "You're Quinn, right?" I was shocked that he knew my name.
"Yeah..." I said uncertainly, "Do I know you?"
"I'm Luke. Luke Evans?" he said, "I sit a couple rows behind you in Biology." All of a sudden I remembered him. He didn't talk much in class, and I always thought he was so mysterious.
"Oh, yeah!" I said a little too enthusiastically, "I've seen you around." He laughed a little.
"So what's up?" he asked, looking at me intently "You seemed a little preoccupied."
"Oh it's nothing," I said, trying to brush off how worried I actually was, "It's just my roommate." I didn't think I needed to share the details of my personal life with someone who was almost a complete stranger.
"Alright, as long as you're okay then," he said, I wondered why he was taking so much interest in me. "Here," Luke said as he reached for my phone, "Let me give you my number," I didn't object, although I wasn't sure if I would ever text him.
"Um, thanks," I said kind of awkwardly, "I'd better get going."
"Sure, see you around Quinn," he said with a wink. I watched him walk off in the other direction and then made my way back to my dorm.

When I got back, I decided look into Cara's disappearance. She never talked about her family, but I knew she wasn't very close with them. It was odd that she would rush out like that, especially because she left all her belongings behind. I figured my best bet was to look through some of her stuff, just to see if I could get any clue to where she might be. I didn't really know where to start, so I just paged through some papers on her desk, it was all stuff for her classes. I glanced at her laptop, but looking through that was going too far. Just then I got a text, but it was from a number I didn't recognize. "Stay out of Cara's business...or else."
