>>> RUBY'S POV <<<
"Okay I'll go first." He says
"Okay, ask me something."
I say confidently, even though deep down, I'm extremely nervous he'll ask a question I won't be able to truthful answer. And there's a lot of those for me."Well tell me the basics, like you favorite color and animal." He says , flashing his perfect smile at me once again.
"Ok, favorite color... Red. Animal, probably a dog," I say after a little thinking. "What's your favorite thing to do in your free time?"
"I usually hang out with my friends or play the piano," He says shy-fully. "What about you?"
" I really love to read, and I also play a little bit of piano myself." I say, looking back at my large book shelf behind me.
"Do you have any siblings?" I ask.
"Nope, I'm an only child." He says. Not like I didn't already know that. But I asked anyways.
"Yah me too." I add.
"What's with the bright red room?" He asks me.
"Well my mom told me that she painted my room a shade of pink while she was pregnant with me, but when I was born, they turned that shade to red.
And it's been my favorite color ever since." I explain
"That's cool." He says.
After a long 10 minutes of asking each other questions , his mom texts him telling him she's waiting out front.
I totally thought I was off the hook. So far he hadn't asked me any questions I was unable to answer. But, right as he was packing up his stuff. He asked one last question.
"Why were you out on your porch the other night?" He asks.
I tense up a bit "I don't know what your talking about." I respond.
"The other night I was up really late with my friends and I saw you out on your porch. You seemed upset." He explained.
My heart throbs, partly because of the fact that he actually cares about me, and partly because I know I'll have to lie to him.
"Oh, I was just feeling sick and needed some fresh air." I say, and look down at my feet, so that my nervous face won't give away that I'm lying.
"Oh yah, I know the felling. Well my moms here so thanks for having me over, I'm glad I could help!" He says sweetly.
He thinks he "knows the feeling"
I wish someone else could really know he feeling of what I was going through."Yah thank you so much for helping me! It means a lot!" I say, walking him to the door.
"Do you think you'll ever need me to come back and tutor you again?" He says, I could hear the hopefulness in his voice.
"I think I got it now," I say as I see his smile start to fade, "but that doesn't mean I won't need a friend to come over and talk more with sometime." I say with a smile.
His smile pops back up as well, "I'd like that." He says, now standing only a few inches away from me.
"I would too." I say, looking up at him. He was pretty tall compared to me.
Our faces are now only inches apart. I quickly take A step back and open the door for him.
" I'll text you." He says with a wave goodbye
"I'll be waiting." I say with a wave back.
Why am I doing this to myself? I can't fall in love, and I especially cannot let someone as great as him fall in love with someone like me.
