(Lucy's POV)
I wake up in my bed at home. How did I get here? Someone is holding my hand and squeezes it when they see I'm awake. "Lu." Levy says. I lean up slowly looking at her, "What happened?" "Um... Jellal, Juvia, Mira, Lissanna, Gajeel, Romeo, and I all came looking for you. When we found you, some creepy guy was trying to....well, he had you all knocked out and.....um....you see, I think he was trying to kidnap all of you." Levy said quietly.
"Yeah, he was." I say truthfully. "What is The Indigo Project?" Levy asks. I look at her, shocked, "How do you-" She cuts me off, "Right before Wendy blacked out, she said, 'The Indigo Project. They found us.' What was she talking about? I know something is going on because your foster mom is acting weird too. She said to not call for an ambulance, not to call the police, and none of us are allowed to leave the house."
Wendy is right. We've gotten too close, they've seen too much, and now we need all the help we can get. The time for lies is over. I walk with Levy downstairs. She said everyone else was awake and waiting for us. When we walk into the living room, Mrs. Dragneel runs up and hugs me, saying, "Oh Lucy, we were so worried and I didn't know if you were okay or what had happened. Just never do that again!"
"Alright, give her some room Mom." Natsu says, "I'm glad you're awake Lucy. We have some things to talk about."
"They need to know everything." I say confidently, "We can't lie to them anymore." Everyone in the room looks shocked by my bluntness. "I hope you don't mind if I join you." Mr. Dragneel walks in. "Of course." Mrs. Dragneel goes to her husband. He came home two days after we got here. He was on a business trip. I smile as I remember Natsu and Wendy surprising him when he walked thru the door. When he found out what happened, he became like more than a father to all of us.
"Well, I guess we should start from the top." I told them everything. Then I read the information I got from the guard. Then I told everyone about what happened yesterday. I didn't leave out any details about where we came from, what it was like, or anything else I could think of. By the time I was done, all the girls were crying, the boys were clenching their fists trying not to cry, and everyone who came from the lab just stood there, angry at our past.
"....and that's the truth." I finish, sadly, "I'm sorry we lied to you. We were just scared they would find us again, but it looks like they found us anyway. I did manage to erase some of his memory, but he won't be telling Zayn nothing is here. He probably remembered who we are, so he shot us with that weird gun. However, all the details will be blurry, like what school he was at, how to get here, and whether or not he actually shot us. Right before he got away, I planted a bug in his head to erase the rest of the memory. Two or three days from now it will all be gone."
"Well that's good." Mira says. "So, how long do we have until creepy scientists break down your front door." Gajeel said bluntly. "If no one comes here and nothing happens for three days, I think we're safe." I guess. "I think you're all forgetting something." Jellal says pointing to Erza's neck, "What did they put in you?" "We don't really know. I've never seen anything like it." Erza says thoughtfully. "And I didn't see anything like it in my databases." I say.
"Is there anything they would need to put in you?" Lissanna asks. "They wouldn't put another modification in you, would they?" Juvia asks. "I don't think so, besides, we would be in a lot of a pain right now if they did." Gray responds. We sit there, thinking about our new problems when it hits. I'm seeing a glimpse of the future.
Suddenly I'm on the ground in a place I recognize but can't seem to name. Someone is over me, Zayn. He's laughing, "You are mine." His words echo in my mind. I see all our friends being grabbed, and I try to move. I can't. I've been handcuffed with an all too familiar label on it: The Indigo Project. Then I just see images: people crying, Zayn handing people money, that weird gun, and cages, so many cages. I feel like I'm being shaken and I snap out of my vision. Natsu is holding my shoulders, "Lucy, what's wrong? Why are you crying?" Then he realizes what just happened, "What did you see?"
"I don't really know." I stutter, "It was the future. Zayn was there, and all of you were there too." I gesture to our friends, "I don't know where we were, but I recognize it. These men were grabbing everyone and I was handcuffed. There were so many cages. It was The Indigo Project." I feel my tears fall down my cheeks. Then Natsu lets me just hide in his chest.
He hugs me and says reassuring things like, "I won't let anyone hurt us." and "It's alright."
He is warm and I feel safe in his arms. I smile up at him and he smiles down. I feel different when he is with me. He makes me stronger. He makes me feel balanced.
A light pours out of my chest and a woman appears. "I am Libra of the heavenly scales. I am your spirit of peace and balance. I am glad to be of service." she says. Then the light disappears and her spirit is sucked back into my chest. I look around and notice all the non-experiments are staring with their mouths hanging open.
I giggle at their faces and look at Natsu, "Aren't you glad this one is a girl?" This comment sends everyone into a laughing fit. I feel better letting other people know about our secret. "Um, about the vision..." Mira breaks the laughter, "do you know when that will happen?" I look at Natsu, a new fear in my eyes.
I know the answer to that question, and it scares me. "All of my visions come true within a week of me having them." I say. Looks like we have a new problem.
