RECAP:

"I believe you." Someone broke the silence with three very dangerous words.

***************************************************************************

Date: does it even matter?

Place: dude...you dont even know the half of it.

Nick's POV

I REALLY did that? I really used all that power to send back those spikes? But that is not possible. I look at the other three for some kind of support. For one of them to deny it. For someone to say that it didn't happen. They all look away from me.

So it's true?

But it can't be. IT just can't.

.....or can it?

I am the awake and living proof of it myself. If I don't believe it...who will?

There is no doubt about it. I felt the energy. I felt all the power. And that light. It was real. It IS real.

"I believe you." Did I just say that? It is like my mouth moved on its own. But now that I have said it, I am not going to take it back.

I look up to see the reaction of everybody else. Quinn's face is expressionless- as if he knew this was going to happen all along. However, the other three are looking at me as if I have just said that I am changing my gender.

"What Quinn is saying is true. And you guys know it as well. There is no need to hide from it. Just except it. I know it is hard. But it IS the truth." I explain myself to them. They all take in what I just said. I can't predict what they are thinking by any of their expressions.

They all look away from me at the same time. Silence encloses us for what seems like a century.

"So what?" We all turn to the nameless quiet jock. What does he mean?

"So what if I have powers? I mean, let's say for a second that I believe you as well. I believe you that I DO have powers and everything you have said until now is true. So WHAT?" he looks at Quinn for an answer. But Quinn looks confused by the question. What DOES this guy mean? "I can't stay here. I have responsibilities of my own. I have a life. I can't just leave it. Do you understand?" he asks Quinn again.

Realization hits Quinn's face just as it hits all of ours. He DOES have a point. I have a life too. I can't just leave Gavin like that. Quinn smiles. "Don't worry about that. You won't have a problem in your everyday life. You know, if you guys had stayed for more of the video, you probably would have already had an answer to your question." I am confused. He is talking as if he has a solution to our problem. But what could possibly solve it? Gavin can't come here is that is what he is thinking. He still needs Aunt Florence as a parent. And I am sure Aunt Florence wouldn't want to come here. And anyway... if she DID come here, Uncle Sam would too. And the two of them here would mean everyone ELSE would have to leave. I smile at the thought.

"So basically..." Quinn's voice interrupts my thoughts. "You guys won't be missing much by staying here for six months."

"How could you say that?" Andria asks.

"Let me finish, okay?" Quinn replies. "In case you guys are wondering where you are right now... let me tell you that you are not on Earth." Not on EARTH? Umm...yeah. Right. "The Zion Institute is a much larger institute than you can imagine. Too big to be stored on ANY planet."

"Then where is it?" I ask.

"The Zion Institute is located....in the Sun." Wait.....what??? Did he just say the SUN?

"How is that possible?" Andria asks.

"Until this morning I am sure it wasn't possible for anyone to have super powers as well, right? But it is now. Sweetheart... your definition of possible is going to have to change very fast." Quinn replies. Andria has nothing to say back. "Anyway. As I was saying... you are right now in the Sun. So... to make things more efficient for us... the Gods have given us a gift. The gift of time. Six months in here are equivalent to 6 minutes on Earth." No way. Is that even POSSI---never mind. It is.

"What if we don't WANT to stay here?" Xavier asks.

"What about after the six months?"Andria asks at the same time.

Quinn smiles at their outburst of questions. "Sometimes you guys just don't say anything and sometimes you guys just don't stop asking questions. Kids these days..."Quinn shakes his head while chuckling. "Okay. To answer your questions... after the six months you will be given the choice to sign a contract. The contract will declare you immortal soldiers. You can only die in battle from then on. But if you are to become soldiers...you will have to forever devote you lives to Zion and forget your families forever. In exchange for that... you will be given one wish. You can wish within the boundaries written on the contract. If within the boundaries... you can even bring someone back from the dead." He pauses for our reactions. Someone back from the dead? Like Mom? And Dad? If Gavin could have them back...he wouldn't need me. Would he? But is it worth it?

"Don't start thinking about your wish now. You have six whole months. Now before I give you the envelopes for your powers... I need to ask you one question. Are you up for it?" Quinn waits for our reply.

If it is for Mom and Dad...

"I am in." I say. I get the same looks as before.

"So am I." Xavier puts in.

"Me too." The loner says.

We all turn to Andria. Will she do it? I can see the hesitation on her face.

"Umm...well...what proof is there that you are saying the truth?" she asks.

"If I provide the proof...will you be in?" Quinn asks with a smile.

"Well...I guess so." She almost whispers. Quinn smiles a victorious smile.

"Great. Don't worry about the proof. I am sure you will find many during your six months here. Now let's find out your powers." He looks up at the ceiling. We follow his lead and look up as well. We see four golden pieces of paper coming down towards us. Mine lands on my lap. I pick it up. The paper is thick and it looks like it is made of gold. "Alright. Now take your slips and blow on it." I find it awkward but I do what he says. Writing starts appearing on the slip.

A...

I...

R...

Air. I feel a strong wind pick up around me. I look around. No one else seems to feel it. Weird. I look up at Quinn for further instructions. But he is looking at us confused.

"All the slips should have self-destructed by now. I don't see the problem." I look back down at the paper... the writing...it is changing.

"Umm....is the writing supposed to change?" I ask.

"No. Not unless....wait....you too? But I thought the only...." he trails off. This is the first time I see that something has taken Quinn off-guard. What did I do? Did I mess the paper up? I am probably the first one who he has seen that has messed up holy paper. I always break things.

"I am sorr-" I interrupted by a gasp.

"Mine is changing too."

"Same."

"Me too."

Quinn's eyes widen as he looks at us. Suddenly his expression changes. "I guess this won't be as boring as I thought it would be." He says with a smile. A smile that says that he knows a secret we don't.
