RECAP:

There is no doubt about it- they are only letting us use out MIND powers. But why?

Xavier’s POV

I look over everyone’s description. Are these guys crazy? I suck at my MIND power—Illusions. I wouldn’t be able to make anyone have an illusion even if my life depended on it--- which in this case, it most probably is.

I look at the rest of team. They are just as flabbergasted as I am. We all given Raven a What-the-hell-do-you-think-you-are-doing look. She shrugs it off. “Calm down, guys. It is not as bad as it looks. To the Styx Institute you are new recruits that know that they have powers but don’t know how to use them so you don’t have to worry about not knowing anything. Plus, it will look more authentic this way. Moreover, we have information that the Styx Institute only uses mortals with MIND powers unless you are really good at your BODY power. This is why they have the most effective training facilities for MINDS. So, you guys will be getting good training as well.” She looks at us for some kind of positive reaction. When she doesn’t get one, she continues. “You know, what? This is how it is. And you are going to have to live with it. Like it or not.” She drops her Ms. Nice act quickly. We all give her a disapproving look but no one says anything.

“ANYWAY, let’s make out way to the Tele-tubes.” She checks her black and silver watch. “It is time to leave.” She says. She closes her eyes and stays very still. Why is she suddenly meditating? This lady is so weird.

I shake out of my thought at a sudden WHOOSH sound echoes through the room. I look behind me to see that all the rows and rows of flamethrowers, hand grenades and gun are gone. In fact, even the tables they were on are gone. Instead there are five transparent glass cases. These ones are quiet similar to the ones we woke up in after getting kidnapped. Raven opens her eyes and makes her way to the glass cases. Her footsteps echo through-out the now empty gymnasium size room. Andria follows. And so do we.

As we approach the TUBES, they all open with a swish. Not another case. I hate being in these tight places. I feel like suffocating. I look over to Nick and we exchange glances. He told me once that he has the same problem. This is how we first started talking. We were Tactical-Abilities class when we were all put in a metal case and had to find a way out. We had unlimited time, but even then, two people weren’t able to get out: Nick and I.

Andria shows up between Nick and me. She looks at the two of us and gives us understanding looks. “Just take deep breaths and concentrate on your breathing. It will be over soon.” Nick gives her an appreciative look where I just look away from her and pretend to ignore her. I still haven’t gotten over the fact that she took my place. And the worst part is, she didn’t even say that it should’ve been me. She just accepted it. Some FRIEND!

I glace over to look at Raven just in time to notice her giving us a disgusted look. “Here we are set out to save the world, and I still have people with me that are scared to go into a glass case. Are you kidding me??!!” she shakes her head and look away. She walks into a glass case and the clamps go around her.
