RECAP:
"We have decided that we will be going on this mission." I announce.
If I know what I am doing is right, why am I feeling so scared about it?
**************************************************************************************************************
Date: September 30th, 2011
Place: Zion Academy, Zion Institute, SUN
Xavier's POV
"Great. We knew you wouldn't say no to us. You will be leaving for the mission tomorrow. Raven will give you all the details. You can have the rest of the day off to get to know your new mentor and to ready yourself for the mission. Have a nice day." She dismisses us as she points to the window we entered from. The lady- Raven- walks back through to the window and I follow. The others are not far behind. We all walk back to the elevator in silence. As we reach it the golden wall it parts to reveal the inside of the elevator. We descend in silence as well. Well...there usually isn't enough time to make conversation when you are descending thousands of miles at speed of light anyway so we didn't have much of a choice. Once we make our way out, Raven decides to introduce herself.
"My name is Roxana, as you have already been told. But I prefer to be called Raven. I am very sorry for you loss. I can see that you were very close with your old mentor. I will try my best to mentor and connect with you as well as he did." She finishes with hope in her eyes. I can't help but believe that she is scared of us. Is it because of our power? But none of the faculty acts like that around us. They have high expectations but they never fear us. I don't like her already. I glare at her.
"You can't replace him." Nick says. Raven flinches at his tone of voice. SHE is going to train us? She can't even stand a little rude talk. Such a push-over.
"I didn't say I was going to. I was just trying to----never mind." she decides to not finish her sentence. "Why don't we make our way to your dorms? All the equipment necessary for the mission should be there already." She gestures towards the hallway that leads towards the faculty dorms and takes the lead. We follow.
We have been given faculty dorms because of our...differences. We were not given dorms with the MINDS or the BODIES because we are both. Neither section was willing to give us space. But in a way...it is a good thing. The faculty dorms are much more luxurious and spacey than the student dorms. Plus, each person gets a room to themselves. And in the dorms, the girls and boys are divided, whereas Andria can have a room right beside us here. Not that it makes a difference or anything.
We reach the double door entrance of the section of rooms given to us. In our section, there are five dorms. The middle belongs to Quinn-I mean, BELONGED to Quinn-and there are two on each side. Zak and Andria to the left with Nick and me to the right. I look at Quinn's room and my jaw clenches.
He worked day and night on missions for the Institute and this is what he got into the end for all his work? They forgot about him THIS quickly? His team was the most well known in the Institute. This is the reward they got?
I watch as Raven makes her way to Quinn's room. I am about to stop her from going in when I realize that this isn't Quinn's room anymore. It belongs to HER now. The lady turns around as she notices that the four of us have stopped following her.
"The equipment has been put in my room. And this room is the safest for any eavesdropping. It is important we keep the fact that you are going on a mission and what the mission is-- a secret. I suggest you follow me in." When we don't make a move to obey, she looks irritated. "Look. I am not here to pamper you. I am not trained to babysit you guys. I am a soldier that has been given the responsibility to lead this mission. I am not any happier with this arrangement than you are. I can think of many better teams than a group of undertrained kids. Anywho, we have a lot we have to do before we take off for the mission."
We still don't make a move. We all have decided that we are going to make this as hard for her as possible. I can't believe how well we are working as a team. "Fine. Don't cooperate. You are just going to miss out on a chance to find out what happened to your beloved Quinn." She puts emphasis on his name. I stop glaring at her. What does she know about him? She smiles at her victory. "Alright, then. Now that's settled...follow me." We give up and do as she says. She has our weak point now.
We find that Quinn's bedroom has been turned into a full-fledged combat gear storage room. One wall of his room has been turned into a computer screen. There are rows of hovering tables with gadgets and weapons of every kind. There is a whole section to the right with black skin tight combat gear with a whole lot of gadgets attached to them already. It is like a soldier's heaven. I somehow don't regret coming to this room anymore.

Nick's POV
I look at a gun in front of me. It is a holy EOTech 552 HWS!! Woah! Just as I am about to touch it, Raven gives me a warning glare. "Don't touch anything until advised to. I don't want any deaths before the mission has even BEGUN. Let me first give you the details of the mission. Follow me." She heads over to the huge computer screen. We follow. As we reach there the screen shows the Moon and imprinted on it are the words Styx Institute.
"I am sure you have heard of Styx already, but let me give you a brief description. Like the Zion Institute, Styx Institute is training some beings on Judgement Day. The difference? They are the ones trying to DESTROY the planet. The Styx Institute is run by only one person. An immortal person. And extremely powerful person. He is said to have the power to over-throw gods. He goes by the name of Cypher. Ray Cypher. We have been told that Cypher is planning on doing something very dangerous on the 15th of October. Our mission--- to find what it is and report back to Zion. If necessary... we may be asked to stop it ourselves. But we have to try our best to make sure that, that doesn't occur. Is that clear?" She pauses. Everything she just went above my head. That Ray Cypher sounds like a real loser. Doesn't he have anything better to do than try taking over the planet? I mean...how lame could you get?
"How are we going to do that?" Andria asks. She has been paying attention... as usual.
"We are going to go under cover as some of the mortals Styx will be taking in to train. They are resting at a camp right now. We have to go to that camp. It will be out job to get to the Institute, to find the necessary information and then to get out. It is not part of our mission to fight anyone there. They have to be getting in the way of our mission for us to be given the right to attack them. I will be in charge of this mission and failure to head my commands on the field can result in severe punishment upon return. I am sure the Elders won't be as easy on you guys as they were on Quinn." She smiles. A smile that sends chills up my spine. It looks like she WANTS them to be hard on us. One thing is for sure--- this lady is not as innocent she seemed. Suddenly her bracelet starts shining. She looks shocked. She looks at us with guilt in her eyes.
"Why don't you make your way to your dorms and get a big dinner and a good night's sleep? They may be last ones you get in a while." She dismisses us.
