Ellie's POV
I looked at Bri while she just stared at the three sticks I held in my hands. The three sticks that could possibly change my life forever. "Bri, say something.." I said hoping she wasn't mad.
"Ellie..." She began. "So this means..." She smiled. "You're pregnant?!" She whispered.
"I think so. I haven't gone to a doctor so I don't really know for sure." I said still in shock.
"Well, are you late?" She asked.
"I don't know, I'm supposed to start this week, but I guess I'll find out then." I said.
"Well, I hate to be all up in your sex life, but did you use protection?" She asked.
"Well, there was this one time he didn't, but he pulled-"
"Ohhhhkay!! I got it..." She said interrupting me. I guess I went into too much detail.
"Well, I guess we will just find out this week, but you need to schedule an appointment so you know for sure." She suggested.
"Okay, but if this is legit, then I'm scared to tell Drew." I said with a sigh. I knew he wouldn't be mad, but just a part of me thought he would.
"Don't be!" She said as she put a hand on my shoulder. "He's not going to be mad at you. You're engaged, you both have jobs, you're doing it right." She paused. "We may just need to get this wedding going pretty soon so that you can focus on the baby when he or she gets here."
"But we don't know for sure!" I said stopping her in her tracks.
"Well, we're pretty sure..." She said. "Three positives?... It's more than likely that were gonna have a baby Scott!!!" She said with a whisper.
I smiled trying to think positive about this whole thing, but I was just so scared to tell Drew about it. I mean we hadn't really planned for a baby, we literally JUST got engaged. What's he going to think? My mind raced about this all night, so I couldn't go back to sleep.
I woke up with a headache. I had probably gotten a whole hour of sleep. I'm surprised I had even got that much considering how I was freaking out all night about this. I leaned over to grab my bag to put my clothes on and start the day. When I went to pick it up, it fell over and he tests fell out. "Oh shit." Luckily Drew was out of the tent already so he didn't see them. I stuffed them back in the bottom of my bag, grabbed my clothes and zipped it shut.
I walked out of the tent smelling breakfast. Bacon, sausage, eggs. "Yumm!" I said grabbing the attention of everyone at the table.
"Hey babe!" Drew said looking at me and smiling. My heart pounded the second he looked at me. What if I slip up and say something? Or worse... What if Bridget says something and he gets mad that I didn't tell him first? Every bad thought possible ran through my mind as I walked towards him.
"Hey!" I forced a smile.
"We're going out on the lake today after breakfast, you wanna come?" He asked.
"The lake?" I thought to myself. I loved going on the lake, but with my stomach being awfully queazy this weekend, I didn't think it was such a good idea. "No, I'm worried I'll just end up barfing every five minutes."
"Are you okay?" He asked. "I heard you get up in the middle of the night last night."
"Yea, I'm feeling better today. I'll just kick back and read a book out here." I said to him, hoping he wouldn't ask to many more questions.
"I can stay if you want me to! That way you won't be so lonely!" Bridget suggested.
"Aw," I thought about it. Maybe it wasn't such a bad idea, I know how she blurts things out without thinking about it. "Yea! That sounds good." I smiled.
"Okay!" She smiled back.
The guys left for the lake, and it was just me and Bri at the campsite. "Do you think he heard us last night?" I asked her frantically.
"No! I'm sure he didn't, he would've pulled you to the side and asked about it, or he would've been acting weird around you. But he seemed perfectly normal to me." She said.
I agreed. "You're right. But Drew being normal is weird for me." I laughed.
"Well, as normal as normal can be for Drew." She smiled. "Don't worry about it El! He's going to be fine!! That boy loves you, and the thought of having a small you and him running around will make him the happiest person here."
"Okay, okay!" I said smiling. "I just hope you're right."
"Trust me on this..." she stood up to clean the table. "Okay?"
"Okay. I do!" I laughed. "So what do you want to do?" I asked. "Besides sit here and do nothing?"
"Let's go hiking." She grinned.
"Oh shit..." I covered my face with my hands. "Maybe I should've let you go with them." I laughed.
TC's POV
We were out on the boat and me and Jayk were the only ones actually getting our hands dirty and doing some good old fashioned fishing. Blake and Drew sat in the boat just watching and basking in he sun. It was really nice and quiet. Birds were chirping, it wasn't too hot, wasn't too cold, it was just the right temp. I could already tell this was going to be a good day.
It was quiet, and I thought I should start telling them what I'd had on my mind. "So.." I started.
"So... What?" Drew laughed.
"I've been thinking about something recently." I began.
"About?" Jayk asked.
"Don't laugh." I smiled.
"Okay, now I'm gonna want to laugh." Blake added.
"Well, I have a plan to propose to Bridget on New Year's Eve right when the Ball drops." I said to them expecting a little laugh or two, but I didn't hear anything from them.
"You're going to propose?!" Blake asked excited.
"Well, I'm thinking about it, but considering we just got together a few months back, I don't want her to run away screaming." I laughed, trying to make it comical.
"Run away screaming?" Jayk laughed.
"She's not going to scream." Drew said. "That girl is madly in love with you. It's unreal." He laughed.
"How would you know?" I asked.
"Because remember when you friend-zoned her?" He asked, putting it kind of harshly.
"Yea, but you don't have to say it like that." I added.
"Well, you did." He laughed. "But anyway, that's all she would talk about to Ellie, and that's all Ellie would tell me."
"So, you're saying if I do this, that she'll be crying, but they won't be bad tears.?" I asked, clearing things up before I officially made a huge decision in my life to throw a question at this girl and change our lives forever.
"Trust me Teec." Jayk held his fishing pole in one hand, and put the other on my shoulder. "That girl is going to say yes... I promise you this."
"Hope you're right..." I said.
