Note// wooo things are getting interesting yeah? The plot may seem like it has holes in it, but that's because im trying to decide certain things that will happen, because some part of me wants to write a sequel to this novel (maybe even prequel books based on the other wolves that shows how they came together) anyhoo. i hope you enjoy this chapter. please vote, comment, and share! eleven: you bring out the worse in me

Shifting was painful and while it was over in maybe two minutes, each change that my body went through could be felt in all of those two minutes. The sidewalk's cement service was rough and hard against my palm as I hunched over and fell to the ground. The sound of running jackhammers pounded in my head as my jaw snapped out of place; the usual rows of teeth were replaced by massive fangs. My face had elongated into the shape of a wolf's snout. The sound of crunching filled the air as my snapped and reformed. My knees curved backwards and my arms extended out. Claws emanated from the flat base of my nails, pushing through the skin until they dug into the cement. Thick white strands of fur replaced my bare arms. What clothing was left became shredded completely at the sharp springing of a tail. A pained howl escaped as two ears flicked forward above my head.

My eyes, now slits narrowed in on the mirroring silver ones. There was a grin on Lyus' face, a sadistic grin that complemented the terrifying nature in his eyes.

My thoughts were running quickly as I tried to figure out what was happening and how to change back. Thinking distracted me, to the point I hadn't realized that a man was waving a rifle at me. Marcus was on the floor, passed out cold.

"Get back!" The man yelled, before shooting off a round. Whimpering, I bounded off. Speed came to me easily; I was fluid and one with my body practically swimming through. But I was running in the wrong direction. I was now running in the direction of a crowd of people. Screams penetrated the air as figures moved out of my way.

Mason! The thought of running to the woods to find Mason and his family crossed my mind. He could help me, I would be able to figure everything out and be safe once more if I just found it. Cutting through buildings I bounded through the forest.

But I wasn't alone. One my left a brown wolf appeared his eyes yellow and his breaths ragged and fierce. On my right was Lyus; I could see him watching me from the corner of his eyes.

Follow us.

I growled.

Leave me alone! Leave us all alone! Why are you here?

I'm tired of hiding who I am. This is our land and we're taking it.

There are human lives at stake!

Meaningless lives! They are weak.

The earth sifted into my nails as I came to an abrupt halt, quickly turning the other way. I knew that running with Lyus meant running with trouble. Whatever he had planned, sounded like a lot of people would get hurt and I wanted no part in it.

You can't run forever Lucy.

With each harsh breath I pushed myself forward, away from Lyus . . . away from the fact that what he said was leaning toward the truth.

Lucy!

The sound of Mason's voice so clear in my head distracted me and sent me spiraling down a hill. The snow was cold against my back as I shaved against the ground, finally coming to a stop in a small ditch.
