I could feel the sweat at the back of my neck, even though it was pretty chilly and I had a two layered thermal on beneath my jacket. I knew that I was nervous and scared. There was a possibility that Lyus thought of me as some naïve young girl who would easily fall into his trap and it was possible that I was most definitely falling into his trap as I traveled through the woods. I tried to tell myself that if anything happened I could change and there would be the possibility that I could actually get myself out of any mess.

A little bit farther.

It was surprising to me just how little I was shocked to heard Lyus' voice in my head. The weird thing was I wasn't afraid because I was used to it, even though I was more so fearful of the man behind the voice. I had crossed from the woods behind my house and headed down the street, now entering the woods where one of the wolves had been spotted.

I ventured farther than I ever had gone into any woods alone before. The deeper in I went, the more I had to depend on my other senses. In a human case I would be blindly travelling through, maybe stumbling over the roots of trees or anything in my path that I might miss. But I could feel everything inside me heightened. I aware of each tree, each outstretched branch like a waving hand. While I expected it to get darker the further I went in, I was surprised this glowing light.

As I came closer I noticed it to be an abandoned camp fire. There were emptied cans of chili surrounding it. It appeared whoever was there, had left in a hurry. But I could feel the eyes. I knew that there were things here and they were looming in the shadows watching me closely.

"I'm here." I announced suddenly, surprised by the lack of tremor in my words. "And I'm alone." Admitting that proved to be a bit harder than I planned. Then I heard the sound of branches snapping and; light breathing. I was now surrounded by a pack of wolves, no grins in sight. I could recall a number of these wolves from the first time I was being sought after, but I found that the black wolf was nowhere in sight.

"Lucy." My heart sped up some at the sound of the male's voice behind me. I didn't know what exactly I expected to find when I turned around, but I was utmost shocked to find that standing in front of me was in fact a human man and not a hairy beast like I pictured Lyus to be. He was tall, reaching at least six feet and despite the obvious old age I knew him to be in, he couldn't look older than twenty three. His hair was a dark black, thick locks that were swept out of the face and slicked back. His eyes were a menacing and bright silver. He was every bit as handsome as he was very well dangerous. "Tell the truth, I didn't expect you to come."

"Yeah well, neither did I. but I am here. So what do you want?" I shoved my hands into my pockets with hopes Lyus wouldn't be able to tell that they were shaking madly.

"I think you know very well what I want Lucy." Lyus said as he stepped closer. My feet were planted firmly in the ground. "We are tired of hiding in the shadows. We are tired of living like mutts. We are powerful beings and we deserve to be treated as so."

"So you're killing innocent people for a power trip?"

"We are simply showing them who is boss. In days' time this town will be overrun by wolves and the humans will have to serve us. And you need not worry about those who have been bitten. They merely didn't survive the change. But don't worry, there are those who have."

"What . . .?" It all suddenly clicked. Lyus and his pack weren't just killing to kill. They were trying to create more wolves like them, so they could hold power over the humans in this town. Who knew how many other humans had lost their lives and were now suffering from the same curse as me?

"So what do you want from me?"

"To join me." Lyus said with a shrug.

"That's sick."

"Not as sick as you believe. Tell me you don't feel the same attraction, the instant connection c'mon Lucy, aren't you just the least bit curious as to why you can hear my thoughts and the others can't, why you feel what I feel."

"I don't," I led.

"There is more to you than you know. More to us. I didn't bite you out of an uncontrollable hunger. I chose you."

A/n OKAY GUYS, so that's where I'm ending it, even though it's probably getting good. Right?
