Hoodie couldn't sleep, but didn't mind pretending. At least there, in his single person bed, Jack and he were pressed together. Together. Hoodie sighed at the thought. Together, something they haven't been lately.
Jack snored softly into the crook of Hoodies neck, their legs tangled and arms lossy flopped around each other. Hoodie smiled to himself as he made small circles on the cannibals bare back. Jack's sensitive skin was always a joy to tease, Hoodie would giggle and swell up with loving giddiness when Jack would hiss from a simple, sensitively placed touch to a yelp when Hoodie would bite his lip. He snickered lightly at the memories created in the passing months.
The room was still dark, and the objects looked black within deep shadows, but still Hoodie reflected back.
Toby accepted them without a blink, and found ways to amuse and annoy Jack now that he lived with them. Masky spoke and chatted with the organ eater as well, they shared many ideas and theories and learned from each others intelligence. But Jack mostly stayed by himself, which honestly upset Hoodie.
He was a proxy, just like Masky and Toby, and they all had missions to complete and things to do around the clock. And Jack was just about as busy, even more. Hoodie had no idea what Jack did when he left on missions, with or without the other proxies. He knew in one of the many cemented rooms in the basement Jack took care of his feeding needs and such, but Hoodie could not fathom what else the cannibal could do with his time. He must do something, after all they rarely seen his crying blue mask walking around when they were at the mansion.
It was more of a huge house then a mansion, and old to add to that. The staircase would sob when anyone went up or down it. Every window was a fight to open or close. Even the spiders had moved out, leaving many cobwebs nobody wanted to clean hanging around.
Hoodie sighed and shifted a little, if only to be closer to Jack. He stared off glumly into the darkness, knowing today was going to be like every other day.
He wouldn't mind it, if only he and Jack didn't argue so much. Most of the time when they argued it was over little, petty things. Who left blood stains in the kitchen again? Who didn't do the laundry? Why is the room always a mess? Why didn't you tell me sooner? It was your fault, not mine.
Hoodie didn't like it, but knew he often fed the fire. He even started the arguments sometimes, unintentionally but started some nonetheless. Jack would always back down, and Hoodie hated it. It confused him why the cannibal would back down. He was strong, smart, wise. He had everything he needed to win any foolish disagreement between them yet he always let himself lose, always cleaned the room and took out the trash and cleaned the kitchen of every speck of blood. It was irritating in the finest definition to Hoodie.
It hadn't always been arguments when Jack first came to live with them. He was very aware of what he was, and what they are. Flesh eater and flesh. Cannibal and human.
Hoodie hadn't liked how strange Jack had acted about it, how he would fix any cuts they had got but would quickly leave the room. Hoodie asked why he did this, and Jack explain it was to make the other two proxies feel more comfortable, knowing the cannibal was away. Hoodie scolded him, saying it was nothing to worry about and they all pretty much trusted him with their life's. At least Hoodie does, but he wouldn't say that. After a few weeks Jack finally got what he meant and was now the doctor they always needed after a mission. Any and all wounds he knew how to treat and heal. It was nice not having to repair each other with shady tactics. Using sewing thread to stitch up wounds, pouring possibly expired alcohol onto gashes.
There was also many cute times that Hoodie would still slightly giggled as he remembered them. Like when he had taken Jack on his first date.
It had been a laid back day, the clouds would occasionally blot out the sun but the grass was a luscious green and the wind blew and sang of happiness. Taking Jack's hand Hoodie pulled him down a wide trail through the woods. It was a park of some sort, and Hoodie figured they would most likely encounter someone else on that nice of a day, but they didn't see anybody as they walked.
