Hoodie knew it was going to be a long drive, but was up for it. He kept his attention, that part of it that wasn't focused on Jack, on the road and on the radio. Every time it came on he turned it up, hoping to catch even a hit of carnivorous animal activity.

Besides that he mostly drove, only stoping when he needed to. At night, he would force himself to sleep a few hours in his car. But for most of the time it was spent staring at red stop lights impatiently and speeding down empty stretches of roads.

Masky had taken the liberty to look up the exact location of the abandoned Evergreen mall while Hoodie had packed. He had set up a system within his friends phone that would show the quickest path to the mall, and now Hoodie was constantly checking it.

He needed to be quick, not just because the Operator would most likely kill him if it found out, but also because Hoodie needed to see Jack and make sure he was okay. And give him a piece of Hoodie's mind.

The proxy was pissed Jack would leave and not tell him anything. He felt like a hypocrite thinking this, but the situation was completely different! Hoodie always came home after a missing, Jack should always know that. But the organ eater just upped and left without much insight of where he was going or why! Also, he has been gone two months. Not once had he called Hoodie, or even tried calling but ended hanging up before the proxy could answer. He left on such a horrible note that Hoodie had thought they broke up, maybe they had. Jack was pretty clueless when it came to dating, but Hoodie thought he would know better then to just up and leave. Apparently not.

These thoughts mostly occupied Hoodie's mind as he drove, and took note to be sure Jack didn't miss a beat when he finally found the cannibal.

Stopping at a gas station Hoodie went in and used the restroom before grabbing a drink and some snacks. Standing at the counter he waited for the worker to come back and tapped his fingers impatiently on the countertop.

"You look a little worried little Proxy," a kittenish voice said from behind him.

Looking over, he took another glance. A woman in mostly suggestive black clothes stood smirking at him from behind huge sunglasses, her thick pitch black hair rolled off her shoulders. Hoodie smirked and turned around, crossing his arms and leaning on the counter.

"How has your search come along, Jane?"

She sighed and shrugged with a flirty smile. It was an oddity to see her in such a casual place, her black eyes glinted with amusement behind the shades. "Same as always," she said airily but then her look hardened, "I catch the son of a bitch but then one of us dies," her light atmosphere returned, "then it's back to the chase. Same old same old," she waved her hand around with a yawn.

Hoodie tilted his head in a nod. "Who won last time you meet?"

Her smirk widened to a sickening grin as eyes bulged with an insane look. Her voice was hardly hers. "Me. I always win, you know this little Proxy."

Hoodie smirked, he knew this was not true but would not push the obsessive, crazy demon for the truth. Might get his head chewed off or worse, get stuck in the middle of her war, or rather her existence of cat and mouse.

Picking up a candy Jane eyed it up some. "So tell me, what brings one of His doggies to these areas hm?"

Hoodie shrugged with an easy look. "Just passing through."

"Are we now. And where will this mission take us?"

He knew better then to tell her the truth, or comment on the use of us. "A ways. It's nothing to crazy, but it's a distance to drive."
