18: Gray Tears

DAY 6

*Wendy's POV*

"Get some blankets!!!" Erza yells as her and Lucy carry Juvia into the campsite.
"What happened!!!" Levy yells.
"We found her in the woods! She was unconscious! We think she was attacked!" Erza hollers.
I was sitting at a picnic table with Romeo and Carla eating when they brought her in.
She looks horrible. There's mud and scratches all over her, bruised knees and elbows too. Her hat is missing and her hair is in knots around her face. I turn and run into my tent for my comforter and blankets. I rush back out to see Erza pointing her katana right at Gray. Oh my gosh.
"Did you do this?!?" She screams at him. Gray is on the ground with his hands up in front of his face.
"N-NO!! I swear it!! I was looking for her all night!" He pleads. He had mud all over his arms and hands. His pants were coated, and soaking wet.
Juvia is lying on a cot that Gajeel brought out. Levy, Lucy and Lisanna, all huddled around her with a First-Aid Kit and other medical supplies. Juvia is shaking, her eyes shut and her limbs violently jerking. She's as pale as a ghost.
"Wendy get over here!!" Carla yells at me.
"Okay!" I sprint over, adverting my eyes from Erza's sword at Gray.
I set all of the blankets down and wrap some around Juvia.
"Have you figured out what's happening?!" I ask.
Lucy shakes her head and tries to restrain Juvia's arms.
"We have no idea what's wrong with her!"
From behind me, I hear Erza requip, and Mirajane transform into her Satan Soul.
Oh no.
"What have you done?!?! You've ruined everything!! I'll destroy you!!" Mirajane yells coarsely, her dark tone wavering.
Mira throws herself at him and starts screaming. Laxus appears out of nowhere and pulls her arms back, and stopping her. He drags her backwards, her screaming curse-words and viciously fighting against him.
"Gajeel! Bixslow! Grab him. Get him out of my sight. I kill him myself if he's here for any longer!!" Erza yells. They sprint at him and drag him by the arms. Gajeel's hand is all bandaged up from yesterday. He silently grabs Gray's arm.
"Stop! I-I didn't do anything!! Listen to me!! Gajeel! Don't do this!! Bixslow!! Please!!! I'M TELLING THE TRUTH!!! JUVIAAAA!!!" His screams get quieter the farther he's dragged away.
Tears flood down my face, I can't hardly focus.
"Lucy, get the potions box from the back of the Magicar please." Erza says, her voice choking up.
"Okay." Lucy whispers.
I have my hands up, my magic radiating onto Juvia, I'm not sure what to even do. I can heal her bruises, but I don't know how to stop the convulsing!!
"She's running a fever! We need cold water! Now!" Levy yells.
"I'm on it!" Jellal responds.
"Juvia come back to us!" Master yells.
"Oh my god." Natsu whispers from behind me, his face stricken with concern, anger, and surprise.
"GRAY, I SWEAR-"
"Natsu save it! There's no use doing that now!" Lucy yells, running back from the Magicar. She has a large box in her hands.
"Hand me those!" Lisanna yells.
Lucy hands it over and kneels down beside me.
"He have to break her fever!" I yell.
"I've got the water!!" Jellal shouts, a basin sloshing around in his arms.
"Just dump it on her!"
The water spills down on her body, a large portion of it being absorbed, making her even closer to the touch. She jerks and her arms stop moving as much, but her body still convulses.
"She's made of water! How the hell will that help!!" Natsu yells.
"Shut up Natsu! I don't see you doing anything to help!!" Lucy yells back at him.
"It didn't work!" We need to get her to the lake!" I yell.
"Panterlilly, Carla, Happy! Fly her there as fast as you can. We'll bring the supplies and follow behind!"
"Aye!" Happy screeches.
The three of them carefully lift up her body and rush over the tree-line.
"Let's go! Grabs everything that's here! We need to be with her after the fever breaks." I yell.
We gather the supplies and sprint as fast as we can down to the lake.
The three exceeds hover above the ground at the edge of the water.
"Just dunk her in!" Lucy yells.
They gently emerge her body in the freezing water and bring her back up.
Levy lays down some of the blankets and they set her down.
"It broke. She's going to be alright! We just need to keep her body temperature warm enough now so she doesn't get hypothermia." I say.
"Here, let me!" Natsu says. He gathers up the rest of the blankets, warps them around himself, then around Juvia. Both of them sit together in a large bundle of blankets. Natsu has Juvia lay against his chest. She sets in between his legs and is sitting up.
"I'll keep her warm." He says.
Lucy looks at him with a hint of anger and jealously. But then with sympathy and sadness.
I wonder if she's okay.
"Wendy are you alright?" Romeo asks me. He puts his hand on my shoulder. I nod slightly and try to concentrate my magic on Juvia's injuries.
Everyone present falls into a disturbing silence.
"Where's Mirajane?" She had to have been there to see whatever happened." Lisanna says.
"Laxus had to get her away from Gray and clam her down. Last time I saw, he took her into his tent and was telling her to quiet down. She was screaming and yelling at him to let her go. So I'm not so sure as of right now." Jellal says.
"I can't imagine that any of you saw what happened last night?" Erza asks.
We all shake our heads.
"Well as far as I could tell. Juvia wasn't too thrilled to spend the evening with Gray at all." Levy says.
"Yeah, she seemed a little off. I noticed she was being really negative and dark. Kinda mean too." Lucy says.
"I noticed that as well." Erza says.
"Do you think it could've been a lasting effect of those berries she ate?" I ask.
"I believe so." Master says. "It appears that Juvia is experiencing something that many of us were oblivious to. The poor girl, she must've been suffering. The only information we can get right now is from Gray. Erza I suggest you stay behind with Natsu, Lisanna, and I to watch Juvia. Wendy, you shouldn't spend your magic all at once. Go with Lucy and Levy to interrogate Gray, you may need to heal some of his wounds as well." Master finishes.
"Why would we heal him?! He did this to Juvia!" Natsu yells.
"You don't know that! We have to find out for ourselves what happened. Don't go jumping to conclusions!" Levy snaps.
"Wendy I'll come with you!" Romeo says.
"Erza, I'll stay here with you." Jellal says.
"C'mon! We gotta go!" Lucy shouts, already heading back down the trail.
