15: At The Camp

DAY FIVE

*Gray's POV*

I wake up. It's cold outside. How nice. I throw on some pants and boots and step out of my tent. I look at Juvia's tent. She took the locks off, that's good. I tip-toe over towards it and listen. I could faintly hear her soft breathing. Good. I hope she's alright. She hasn't been acting right lately. She's been acting normal. No hiding behind bushes and stalking me. No 'my darling' or 'beloved'. She hardly even looked at me durning the paintball match.
PLUS. She started saying
Drip
Drip
Drop

I think she's going back to when she was in the Phantom Guild. Her dead attitude and negativity. It's getting on my nerves. I feel like there's a huge chunk missing when she's not doing what she normally does. I almost miss it. I just don't know what to do. I need to figure out a way to get her back.
I grab some food and sit at the picnic table closest to her tent. If I'm lucky, maybe I'll get to talk to her when she gets up.
The sound of a tent zipper sounds and Erza emerges from Jellals tent.
Big surprise.
Both of them walk out and are quietly talking. I see a flicker of white hair behind the tent and sigh.
Mirajane is insane.
Erza starts screaming and slowly everyone gets up.
Juvia comes out of her tent wearing her blue hat and an ocean blue sweatshirt, with skinny jeans and fur boots. She looks good. I get up and walk over to her.
"Hey-uh Juvia? How's it going?" I say awkwardly.
I'm such a freakin dumbass.
She smiles a little, a nervous smile. But still.
SHE SMILEDD.
"Good morning Gray, I'm doing fine thank you." She says calmly.
I gotta think fast. Can't let the conversation die.
"That's good, um..."
THINK DAMMIT.
Oh I got it!
"Would you like to eat breakfast with me?" I ask.
Genius.
"Sure." She says slowly.
Yes!!
I don't know what it is but she seems to be a little more cheery and friendlier to me. Maybe she's going back to normal- maybe it's because I'm interacting with her...?
She sits across from me, and unwraps her blueberry muffin.
Okay so now what.
We need to speak to each other.
"Soo... How are you feeling..?" I ask.
She looks at me a little skeptically and I guess happily..?
"I'm confused. Were you and I friends? You seem to have an obsession with me. It's quite odd."
She says quaintly.
Oh god.
"N-no! I was just kinda worried, you're not really acting yourself... I wanted to know if you're okay. You had an episode a while ago because of those berries you ate.." I mutter.
She stares at me blandly.
I almost feel like I have to look away. I hold her gaze. Her brilliant blue eyes focused intently, eye brows furred. Juvia looks like she's thinking.
"Umm..." I murmur.
Her eyes widen, and for a split second I swear I saw them spark with realization. She opens her mouth slightly.
"Gray-Sama....." She whispers almost too low to hear.
"Juvia..?" I say.
She shakes her head and takes another bite of her muffin.
"I know you were the one who helped me when my hands were injured. Although, I can hardly recall what happened, I feel that may have been attacking you."
She looks off in the distance, then back to me.
"My sincerest apologies for any pain I may have inflicted on you.
Thank you for your assistance, and the invitation to eat with you."
She begins to get up.
"Although, I have to be honest, I'm not too fond of you, Gray."
And with that,
She grabs her wrappers, stands up, and walks away.

Oh my god.
What the hell?!
I sit at the table in awe.
WHAT THE HELL?!!?
Juvia has never said anything like that! Especially towards me. I swear to Mavis I heard her say 'Gray-Sama.' But what she said just then! It sounded like I was a horrid person. Like it made her mad to say my name. Iike I was a nuisance, an enemy. I have to get her to remember me.
I have to.

"Attention everyone!!! Today we are going to have our activities right here in the camp! Today is Bonding day. There's going to be various challenges and games that you and your partner will complete. Not only is this fun and exciting, but you get to bond with your partner. The Master says that we need to strengthen the guilds members! And bring us all closer together!!"
Mirajane says smiling.
